Dear Scribes,
could you help me, please?

I mainly refer to recent-time (3rd edition and on) sources; I have already read Netheril Empire of Magic, but all the infos are likely outdated.

Do you have any infos on how is everyday life organized in Sakkors (or other floating cities)?
What does common people do to earn a living? (there are no field on the floating cities, I HOPE... shadow caravans bring all the stuff here, right?!)
How is the religion organized (there is only one cult - Shar: usually it's a hidden cult, but I'd find it strage, in a monotheistic society... so is that public, with preachers and Masses?)?
Do krinth do all the heavy works?
Is society divided in Castes? (like Shades-Shadarkai-Human-Krinth?)
Is magic still something that every person tries to study?

As i said, i find it unlikely that everything, in everyday life, returned similar to "how it was before the fall", so i tend to think that Netheril Empire of Magic infos are slightly unreliable...
I have scores of questions... the more you know, the better!

Please, bring back the Realms. I'm really fed up with the Sword Coast.

===== Since English is not my first language, I pre-emptively apologize for any (grammar) mistake that has been made in my post. In order to help me improve my English, please, point out those mistakes (If you could do it politely, it would be even better!). Thanks! =====

The 2E Arcane Ages material probably offers the best “everyman‘s Netheril“ canon available. The descriptions of the Karsus Enclave and associated adventure sourcebook/module are give a few insights.

Judging by the items of commerce, industry, and invention emphasized in these sources, I was left with the impression that everyday Netheril was basically some sort of hybrid of our Victorian steampunk and modern technology ages, though of course fueled entirely by magic and dominated by powerful arcanists.

This is remembered info from various sources I've read over the years. Not sure I can provide exact sources, but here goes:

For Shade, in modern (4E) times, it's still a Mageocracy, led by the 12 Princes as noted in your "Netheril: Empire of Magic" source. They have been searching for their ancient mythallar-powered enclaves and raising those that they could find. They rule over Sembia as an oppressor state. As for Sakkors, specifically, the mythallar was recovered and repaired by the Netherese and the floating city has been rebuilt. It has about 15,000 people on it and it floats around Sembia as a reminder of Netherese control (circa 1479 DR).

Common people, most likely (and this is hypothetical, based on their traits) live on the grounds below the flying city-enclaves. The enclaves are for the wealthy mages and aristocracy, and their trusted agents. Not all Netherese are shadowvar, as many have been captured and "trained" (or enslaved) Bedine tribesmen and women.

Shar is the primary goddess worshiped, but others have been re-discovered by the Netherese since Shade's return and are probably worshiped in secret, hidden, and small private shrines. I'd suspect that any worship other than Shar's is illegal or at least heavily frowned upon. That said, most Netherese (particularly arcanists) don't worship any gods - they view the gods as ascended powerful mortals.

Castes? Probably. But we don't have enough information on the specifics of their organization. Krinth are most likely their servants in the Shadowfel, perhaps sometimes summoned for other reasons, but slaves (especially Bedine slaves or other races) are probably much more common than krinth.

Magic is what many people want to study and master, and many/most would have a smattering of basic magical training and aptitude. But there are many different jobs and routes for the Netherese to work toward other than mage-craft.

This is speculation to some degree, and it's been a VERY long time since I read the novels associated with the return of Shade but here are the impressions I remember getting:

When the enclave departed for the Plane of Shadow, the inhabitants had to become less individualistic and begin relying heavily on each other for survival.
While some of the inhabitants may have been forced into some form of slavery, I think most of the 'grudge' work was done by creatures native to the PoS. As I recall, Telemont was very proud of his people and saw them as vastly superior. I also think, in his own way, he sought to take care of his people.
I'm not sure what they began to use for currency. In such a closed economy they must have resorted to barter, at least until they could form an alternative form of currency (which I'm not sure they ever did).

With the scant details we have been given, my assumption is that they are somewhat like ancient Roman society. The citizens are at the top with slaves to do most of their work for them while they commit to studying magic (or whatever each individual feels he/she needs to do) to improve not only their personal position, but that of the enclave/empire as well. In other words, each citizen believes in 'the glory of Shade' and strives to make it ever more glorious. This is because they were forced to become a very close society for their survival. Over the centuries, this type of 'group-thinking' would become second nature to them.

I have a dream that one day, all game worlds will exist as one.
