Do you think mirt the moneylender, deserves to be a god of any sort , as far as how interesting the character is, and how long the sucker has lived due to good luck?

| I see no reason for Mirt to be a god. I don't see it as something he'd want, and I don't really see any reason for this to happen. |

I was even a little annoyed when he reappeared in 4e. I realize he is Ed's original FR character... but I never really cared for him. Its okay that he came back, but he certainly shouldn't get an 'upgrade'. |

Personally, I think this would tend to undermine the special place Mirt has both in the Realmslore and in my mind.

| Well I just dont see him as the Godly type, maybe a chaotic good demi god or something but frankly i don't think Mirt himself would be happy as a God and I certainly would not want to one of his worshipers. |

I think he's lucky enough that you might conclude he's been blessed by a deity. But no, he shouldn't be one.
He does deserve his own novel. Heck, three novels. Throw in Durnan for one of those too. |

I was a little annoyed as well. That said, I was also pleasantly surprised that he made the transition for the simple fact that I (almost) universally hated the changes made to the Realms and am glad to see the Old Wolf is still around. The same will hold true when the Companions of the Hall make their return...by all rights they should be dead and gone forever...yet I miss their stories.
As to the OPs question...No he shouldnt be a god. He just doesn't fit the bill IMHO, although I could (grudgingly) live with a sort of old school (as in 1e) quasi-deity status. But even that is pushing it. |
