You're right, Kameron, it probably is a red. But I don't know if your observation about the background is really on the money. As I understand it, the four covers actually form one continuous uber-illustration, and each depicts a different type of dragon. If you go that route, you're probably going to wind up depicting at least a couple dragons that are away from their natural habitat. |

Wow, so many FR authors in one place! I am honored to be in your presence! (Well, sort of, you know what I mean.....). For any author that knows about this, I wouldn't mind a spoiler..... Does anyone know what the up and coming WotSQ Book 5 Cover Art is supposed to look like? I'm actually a bit curious...... |

That sounds cool. I always loved it when they did something similar with comic books (anyone remember X-Men #1 with the five covers). If that is the case, then you're right about not being able to rely on the background environment to deduce the dragon species. |

I think the artist has taken some artistic licence, it doesnt look like a Red Dragon (its heads the wrong shape) but its breath weapon would suggest it is one |

Wow, thanks for the link, Sirius. Is that a swamp he's standing in? |

You are welcome. It certainly looks like swamp doesn't it? No idea where it could be. Having read Extinction, you get a strong idea on where Ryld will be headed by the next novel. However, I wasn't cognizant of a swamp being on or near that destination. |

///SPOILER, UNLESS YOU READ WotSQ BOOK 4 EXTINCTION///
Yes, Sirius, I had no idea the was a swamp located in such close proximity to the Demonweb. Truth be told, I'd love to see Valas Hune on the cover for once, but I did think all that Aboleth transformation stuff was simply dreadful. Once again, Pharaun saves the day! |

the rage... man, i can`t wait for the drgon books! dragons are so rare in novels, in any other way as a villain anyway.. it would be thrilling to read about a great silver or gold dragon perhaps. although a huge evil ol reddie is preety cool too |

Hello everyone! This is my first post anywhere so the name's Eric, just thought I'd let ya know. Sortof weird to welcome you to the forum's Richard (considering that I'm even a more recent addition than yourself) but welcome all the same! Dissolution has been my favorite so far in the War of the Spider Queen series, but I'm about to start Extinction so we'll see! Great to see actual authors communicating with the fans. Well now that I feel like my post is horribly disjointed (especially considering that I'm adressing an author) I'll be leaving for now! |

Welcome to Candlekeep. I'm sure Alaundo will keep all the new victims guests happy while extracting information. (Make sure when you're invited to lunch with Alaundo that he leads you to his parlour and not his torture chambers. Although I could never distingish between the two.)
::Whacks Lina with the Staff of the Irritated Moderator +5 he somehow got from Alaundo, then gags her and drags her away::
::He returns from somewhere deep beneath the keep:: Don't mind her... she's escaped from the Asylum beneath the keep... and is always talking about torture chambers and the such... so just ignore what she said... We all enjoy having those famous Realmsian authors here... and wish more would come so we can get more information from them on their writings... *And get our own autographed copies* ::He coughs slightly and fake-smiles::
*rubs head* Owww. That hurt! Autographed copies? Get one for me too Zacas. I'm sure you could persuade these nice authors with your stick charm. |

I've lurked here for years (hmm, yes it has been) but never registered and posted until now. No, I'm not a Realms author, just one of the original Realms players (and no, I won't give my real name, thanks to my real-world job), but I CAN get messages to Ed of the Greenwood, should anyone here want direct replies to anything from THE Old Sage himself. |

Hehe, now that might not have been a bad idea, but he may be reading this post as we speak, gentlemen...... |
"Very well, I am admittedly not as traditional in my methodology as you are. So what? The end result is all the same: target ceases to exist. If I happen to use a bit more flair, and a little less stealth to go about it, so be it. If drow were truly meant to skulk within the shadows, we'd not have stark white hair, now would we? Long gone are my days of creeping in the shadows and hiding in wait. Those means are for beings of a cowardly bent. We Bladesingers are risen above such dribble. So saying, it is boldly into the fray I shall go; if I should come to meet my maker, I will at least have done so with a sense of pride and dignity that your ilk will never truly understand. Now go back to hiding in your dark recesses, pathetic mewling...."~Vesz'aun Auvryath |

::wields the Staff of the Irritated Moderator +5... which he amazingly still has... maybe Alaundo has extras and just hasn't noticed this one missing... So he whacks Shadowlord with it a few times, and then stuffs it back into his TrenchCloak:: Not YOU! What in the nine hells ever gave you the idea that the authors that come to this library are supposed to give YOU autographed novels :P ::He grins and strolls on his merry little way, giving a side glance to keep an eye out for the real irritated moderator who's staff he's 'borrowing'...hehe:: |

I don't know . . . a lot of times these so-called signatures look like something my niece might have drawn.
Sure, I know: "A signature is supposed to be recognized, not read." But it would be nice to have some clue who this chappie was that supposedly signed it! |

Probably due to writer's cramp. I get that alot when I sign my name 10 times in a row. All my "autographs" look different everytime. |

By the way, I think we have a Salvatore sighting on the boards. You might have heard of him as he writes a popular Realms character.
I'm not sure he'd qualify as migrating since I don't recall ever seeing him post on WOTC. Does that make him a new species?
Greenwood replies this weekend.
R.A. Salvatore replies....

Are you absolutely sure about the Sirius...? I think I remembering seeing Mr Salvatore post on WotC at least once or twice...
Well, I suppose only the great man himself can truly answer this question...
As for the wishlist-of-authors-I-hope-comes-to-Candlekeep that seems to be forming, I think I'd also settle for a visit from Mr Grubb occassionally...

He may very well have. I have no recollection about seeing him, but then again I did not visit every thread. I still say Alaundo is blowing a big chance with all these new authors registering.
There should be a box in registration
Are you a past or present Realms author? __ Yes __ No
If you selected yes to the above question please write a 500 word description below about a yet to be released FR novel you have authored or one you wish to write one day for WOTC. This portion of the registration is required to validate author authenticity and will be used for registration purposes only. |
