I went with #3 (and you should number the entries - I hate having to count things on my screen).

Its the closest thing to what I consider 'traditional' fantasy art. The Neferata (5) one wasn't bad either (I like the chick - the rest, not so much).

I could make my own list up, and none of those would be on it. Different strokes for different folks, and all of that. A few of them look the same to me (XOMBIES!)

I'm torn between PotD and NtU. The former, as you said, is traditional fantasy art, and perfectly captures how Richard describes Lod. But Nagash in NtU is simply, terrifyingly magnificent with all his fury unleashed. And the Skaven made an excellent background. (Though I have to get past my aversion to some of the key scenes in book 1, Nagash the Sorcerer, so I could finish the series. I was stuck in the middle of the book where a couple of characters on both sides of the fence did some unbelievably stupid, nerve-grating things. Until now it's still on my "To Revisit One Day" list.)

Every beginning has an end.

I dunno. Maybe a WotC staff reads this thread and would feel inclined to hire the artist of the cover art that wins the poll? Or if they've already hired him, then they'd do well keep him on the payroll?

I loved The Haunted Lands trilogy, and the covert art of all three books are fine, but to me, it seems there's something missing. A "wow" factor, I guess. Should they publish another undead-related novel or series, I'd rather have them keep Jaime Jones to do the cover, or hire any of those guys that do the Warhammer cover art.

Dragon Forge...The Draconic Prophecies introduced me to Eberron and I like the trilogy. My favorite cover from The Haunted Lands is, without a doubt, Unclean's.

Yeah, I the cover art of DF is really good too. I like how Malathar appears in it. I am yet to finish reading it, though (just a few chapters more). I got sidetracked by Beautiful Creatures but will get to it soon after.

Do you have the book? It's on the copyright page.

I mentioned it above. But I'll say it again: Jaime Jones. I checked her gallery online, but I didn't see any FR art. Maybe that's a different JJ.

My fave bits of undead artwork are Lord Soth's Charge and The Gods of Lankhmar; I believe both were Keith Parkinson.

Outside the Realms (but - is it?), my vote goes to Saving the Best for Last by D.Horne (Dragon 126 cover).

I was kinda expecting some fans of the older editions would vote for Spellfire. I probably would have, but these days, I prefer the “modern” type of art.

I have long been a fan of that artwork, and if limited to FR-specific artwork with undead, I'd pick that one. But for undead in general, Lord Soth's Charge is my fave.

I voted #3. Second Choice is #4, third is #2. I really just don't like modern zombies. I don't see the appeal. *shrug*

#2, followed by #3 and then #4. As others have said... it may just be the art style immediately connects and appeals to me.
