I have so far found:
- in -349 it was crushed and since then held by Goblinoids, mainly Hobgoblins - once states, in dwarves deep that they have a regular kingdom - other side again, Underdark 3.5, states goblinoid tribes conctantly warring for domination.
I would like to get info on: - appropriate size - minerals found there and harvested - contacts to other races - etc. etc.
simply all canon lore we can get.
thanks in advance all fellow scribes.

Check out Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark. I was going to post what it says, but it's more than half a page, and so too long to excerpt. The short version is that it was founded after the fall of Barakuir (that subkingdom being captured whole-sale by the illithids and then turned into duergar) to bring the number of Shanatar's sub-kingdoms back up to 9.
It didn't fall to hobgoblins. It fell to the duergar during the Kin Clashes that destroyed much of Shanatar. The survivors left, their mushroom and kelp fields having been burned by the duergar. Surrounding hobgoblins moved in, and fell into civil war for centuries before finally uniting behind a king in -379 DR. They've been there ever since and haven't tried conquering anything else.
There's more in the Guide, and Wyrmskull Throne says that its ruling scepter was the same as Barakuir's, and has Laduguer's symbol on it. |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |
