I believe there are 5 books, actually. But I am specifically referring to the Science Fiction Book Club omnibus which goes by that name:

It's certainly a change of pace from what I've been reading. The prose takes a bit of getting used to.

I just finished this today. What an inspiring read! Told in a style simple yet evocative, this book examines reality among people living in different worlds, bares the truth with subtletly and patience, and ultimately celebrates freedom of choice—choice on whom one wants to be with, and choice on what life he wants to lead.

Benjamin and David’s story resonates not just what many GLBTQ youth face today, but also that of everyone else—everyone who has to make the most difficult of decisions, to stand on their own, and to dare fight the odds.

It gets eight (out of ten) stars from me.

Every beginning has an end.

Just started War of the Twins, on my lunchbreak.

I should be able to get more reading in this weekend... I'll be at my father-in-law's place, in SC. I usually get plenty of reading done there.

Oops .
Anyway I finished this book and it was quite entertaining but felt a bit short especially compared to his earlier books. More of a spy thriller than his usual action oriented stuff.
Looking forward to the next one.

True. He was just setting up the stage in Flight of the Night Hawks, but I thought he did provide enough interesting premises from which the next two books can embark or expand on. Into a Dark Realm delves more into the world of the Dasati. And while there are a decent amount of intrigue and action in that book, ultimately, it is the third and final book in the trilogy, Wrath of a Mad God, that has more action, amazing feats, and quite regrettable losses.

On a related note, Harper Voyager released a new edition of Magician in the UK. And the cover is quite good. Why do UK releases always get the best cover art?

I just finished rereading Whispter of Venom, Book IV of The Brotherhood of the Griffon series by Richard Lee Byers. The first time I read it, I only skimmed through the parts that featured the dragonborn (because I love all the scaly races, duh). Since that’s almost half of the book, I sort of felt like I only read half of the book itself. I only half understood what’s going on in Tymanther and the dragonborn’s fight against the ash giants and Skuthosiin. Frankly, I couldn’t care less. But then again, I felt kind enough to give it a proper read, just in case I missed something of import—only to find out I didn’t; it’s as boring as I thought it would be. Well, at least half of the book is quite enjoyable. Later, if I have time, I’ll try to write a semidetailed review.

Every beginning has an end.

@Renin Hope you enjoy the Cale series. Paul has done some great writing there.

Just finished Way of Kings. At 400,000 words and nine more books set to come out over the next ? years, it's going to be a slow one to get on top off.

Onto what I've had on my shelf for a while and am anxious to dive into her writing for the first time - Assassin's Apprentice (Farseer trilogy book 1) by Robinson Hobb.

I'm only 3-4 chapters in, but I love the setting and writing already. Forgot how much I enjoy Kemp novels.

I did the math; if he can publish the way he wants to (and he's behind by almost 2 years now), I'll be 51 when the last book comes out. But-I really enjoyed the intrigue of the setting and the way the book just cruised at the end. Discovering the history of the land, of how or why things changed, or became changed was really thrilling for me.

Funny enough, I decided I wasn't reading enough fantasy, or branching out from Jordan or Martin in prior years, so this was one of 4 random books I bought to try.

It was pretty good! Although, the one time I went to the library to find book 2, it was checked out, and ...well, lazily just haven't gone back to get it!

Sounds like we have the same taste.

After the Farseer trilogy, I'm going to tackle the Fionavar trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay. Anyone try his stuff before? He's a fellow Canadian (and prairie boy) and has inspiredy writing as well.

It's written in the 1st person perspective right? Yeah for some reason I can't get use to that, so I'll probably won't go near it.

Almost done with Brimstone Angels: Lesser Evils and I'm really enjoying it. After this I have so many to-reads that needs attention...maybe my first foray into Golarion with either Winter Witch or City of the Fallen Sky, or more Sanderson.

Just started Dragons of Summer Flame... It's a good thing I confirmed the chronological order a few days ago! For some reason, I was initially thinking it came after the War of Souls, not before.

Just started an old Richard Dawkins book I only just purchased... Unweaving the Rainbow. I'm also catching up with the Superior Spider-Man comic book, as I happen to be several issues behind in my reading of that awesome series.

For those interested, Harper Voyager has released the first chapter of Magician’s End. The book’s release is just a few more days away, so I’m trying to resist reading that sample. But later . . . I might succumb to temptation.

I just finished Wrath of a mad god.
Nakor and Bek's death came as no surprise to me and frankly I was glad to see Varen finally perish but I must say that the destruction of Kelewan came as a shock, I was hoping till the last moment that it would somehow be saved. I kind of preferred it to Midekemia to be honest.

A lot of that stuff will go straight into my Waterdeep campaign.
