Hey all,
Question for the sages. Is there anywhere to go on reading up on how Dove and Florin went from meeting in the Knights of Myth Drannor "Sword of" series (where they had surprisingly little interaction) to marriage?
Thanks in advance!

Aside from Ed's replies here at Candlekeep? There isn't much.
If you've a particular query relating to the evolution of their union, I would recommend you ask Ed directly. |

There is some info in the Knights of Myth Drannor write-up in the old FR7 Hall of Heroes accessory.

Thanks George. I looked at last night, interesting stuff. Basically they were friends and allies with Dove training Florin and Meilikki (spelling) appeared and commanded Florin to marry her. A divine marriage! I hope Mystra was cool with it!
I also read that the Knights found Guantlgrym. I am thinking this didn't become official lore despite being in the Hall of Heroes? There was other stuff that contradicts the Knights "Swords of" series.

No, it's canon lore, all right; there are two (related) Gauntulgryms. This has been discussed in the thread I tend for Ed here at the Keep. (Gauntulgrym was Ed's creation, back in the 1970s; it was part of the original Realms that TSR purchased.) Which contradictions did you find? love, THO |

Interesting THO! I read Gauntlgrym from RA Salvatore, and then I know of references to Gauntlgrym in earlier sourcebooks from 1st edition or early 2nd edition that say it is lost, and an adventuring party came into Waterdeep (or Baldur's Gate?) saying they had found it and had lots of money to spend. They went back to get the rest of their hoard (without telling anyone where it was) and were never seen again.
Then I found this in the HoH book about the Knights having been there. But the Drizzt book really makes it seem like no one has been there in a very very very long time (since the dwarves left). I guess that was my contradiction.
I'd love to read what was written about the two, but my search function is coming up a little muddled. I should also ask Ed on your thread for more info on Dove and Florin's marriage. It seems like they are never together in the stories, I guess one of them must always be babysitting in Evermeet while the other is off having fun! |
