If you could pick any two characters from Realms fiction and have them face off to the death, who would you pick and why? Also, who do you think would win the battle?

Face off to the death?
The Simbul versus Szass Tam.
The Simbul would win in a fight to the death, because Szass is already dead. Also, because she rocks and is not a stereotype "Curse you meddling Harpers!" Scooby-Doo villain.

*sigh* How about if I take off wizards then?
Kimmuriel Oblodra vs Artemis Entreri
No contest here, Kimmuriel all the way! Unless Artmeis had his incredibly pathetically conceived "Charron's Claw" which can do anything (I'm betting Kimmuriel "repaired it" by not adding it's psionic blocking capabilities).

Wulfgar vs Tavis Burden (the firbolg from Twilight Giants)
This would work better as a wrestling/boxing match. |

I hope Olive knocks the heck out of Regis
I wouldn't mind seeing a wrestling deathmatch between... drum roll...
Thauna Maskalar Vs. Aummerglau Tistrin
Adding jelly would be advisable |

Manshoon clone vs Manshoon clone. One less Manshoon clone in the Realms to worry about, and with some luck both would perish. |

Isn't it weird that Regis is a thief who used...a mace to club people? The only rogue in fantasy history to use a mace, I'm pretty sure.
Lore question, did Regis get his fingers regenerated after Entreri cut them off, or is he still missing a few from The Halfings Gem? |

That one's been done. During the Manshoon Wars, the deadliest enemy of a Manshoon clone was another Manshoon clone. |

I can't think of another rogue who used a mace, and i hope his fingers are still cut off. Regis always annoyed me...partially because i always pictured Regis Philbin for a split second when i read his name |

Clone Wars has been done, but still there always seems to be yet another clone to fill each new vacancy.
He should probably be renamed Manshroom, since he manages to somehow sprout up in all sorts of dark, festering, unattended corners of Faerûn. Especially just after it rains. |

This battle always serves to remind me of the classic Fantastic Four tales where Doctor Doom takes on a rogue Doombot. By the end, the reader is usually left in such a confused state as to who, truly, is the "real" Doom. |

Aside from possible loss of integrity across each generation of duplicating, each copy is essentially identical. Any changes which are present tend to be entirely inconsequential. What does it matter which clone wins the deathmatch? |

But remember that he lived amongst dwarves. Heck, they probably tried to saddle him with a great axe first, and only downgraded to a mace after much trial-and-error. He probably whined for a dagger (which Lockwood actually illustrated him as using on some of the newer covers), but the dwarves stomped their boots and drew the line at at least some sort of mace.
Both of Regis's maces (the earlier morningstar and the later unicorn-headed one) were fairly small. He was able to carry the earlier one on his low-hanging belt under his cloak in The Crystal Shard, so it couldn't have been very big.

This has never been answered.
Presumably, though, since Bruenor's eye was regenerated by clerics between Siege of Darkness and Passage to Dawn, then Regis's fingers should've been, too. |

Heh. Too many to mention. But I'd mention some...
Telamont vs. Mephistopheles. Battleground: Cania.
Rivalen vs. The Simbul.
Larloch vs. Vosthym. Battleground: Any dead planet.
Szass Tam vs. Sammaster.
Zethrindor vs. Brennus.
And to top it all: Halruaan bakers vs. Thayan cooks. |
Every beginning has an end. |

Ahhh but he lived in Lonelywood upon getting to Icewind Dale, not with the Dwarves. He didn't live with the Dwarves until much later when Mithril Hall was founded, and even then spent a lot of time on the road. Just seems odd that Bob didn't give him a nice pointy dagger, since he's about combat scenes and a Rogue who can't backstab is kinda crippled to me. I know he has Entreri to do rogue things in battle I guess, even though Entreri is an assassin!
I have to read some of his Pasha Pook days info (isn't there some short story/backstory here?) and see if he had a dagger back in the day. Regis sure isn't much of a fighter is he?
I agree with you I think his fingers (which Drizzt probably kept) were reattached and regenerated too. |

Indeed. Specially the last one. If Vhostym managed to create The Rain of Fire...the fight of Halruaan bakers versus Thayan cooks would most likely result to The Rain of Flour. |

I plotted out the story of what would happen if Twilight and Drizzt met, in which Cattie-brie plays a significant part.
This reminds me of Elaine's brief scenario for a Drizzt vs. Liriel vs. Cattie-brie encounter. (I'll leave that to someone with better search-fu than I.)
