Alas, it's not GODBORN, but I'm hoping that a listing for GODBORN will hit Amazon and B&N soon. November 2012 is the scheduled release date and I understand the listings appear about nine months before release.

In the interim, I want to mention that the first of my original sword and sorcery novels from Angry Robot Books, entitled THE HAMMER AND THE BLADE, does, in fact, have listings at the big online book sellers. I'm posting this here (and I hope it's all right) because I'm certain that anyone who's enjoyed my Cale stories will love the stories of Egil and Nix.

I talk more about the books and the importance of preorders on my blog. I hope you'll have a read. http://paulskemp.com/blog/the-hammer-and-the-blade-available-for-pre-order/

I'll post it as soon as it's available. Not sure when that will be, but hopefully not too long from now.

Damn it, I'll never be able to clear this to-read pile! Now that I think about it, it'd be really sad if I did.

Thanks Paul

Couldn't pre-order , as we have a moratorium on physical books until we get more shelves...or less books

I did click the I want kindle edition linky.

Interesting excerpt, Paul. What inspired you in creating Egil and Nix?

The classic sword and sorcery fiction I love (and grew up reading): Leiber's Fafhrd and the Mouser tales, REH's Conan stories, Moorcock's Elric sequence, the Thieves' World anthologies, etc.

That's great Paul, count me in! As soon as I can (pre-)order it for Kindle, I will do so! There was no Kindle preorder option on Amazon though when I checked today.

For anyone interested, I've posted a second excerpt from the novel (I'll be doing one a month leading up to the release date). Link is below. If you read, I hope you dig.

Liked the excerpts, reminiscent of the banter between Druss and Sieben from the Drenai books by David Gemmell (RIP). Pre-ordered!

I'm glad you enjoyed, Tamsar, and anything reminiscent of Gemmell (another of my idols) is great, as far as I'm concerned. And thank you kindly for the pre-order. That's a big deal to authors (as volume of preorders is a signal to the big book buyers/distributors, etc.).

I'll be posting excerpts monthly and updating this thread accordingly. :-)

Paul, do you know if this novel will be available outside the US as EBook? I just learned, that the digital era from the perspective of US based companies is somewhat close to what North Corea is in terms of free access to media content. With the difference that North Corea in this case is "rest of the world".

Excellent, thanks Paul! At last one good reason to not use my Kindle as a kitchen board!

Thanks, sc. That makes two of us. Between THE HAMMER AND THE BLADE and GODBORN, I can safely say that I'm fairly chuffed about my next two releases.

Yes, that is really good stuff this year! I guess I will not be able to buy Godborn as an eBook outside the US, but at least H&B will be available and I am very much looking forward to that!
