-Trust me, if he had a listed surname, I would have found it and included it in his EoF entry. If, however, the slim chance that I overlooked it, having poured over sources mainstream and obscure, my mind will be blown.

Are you referring to his "Sheverash the Black Archer" name, that he was referenced as before his Apotheosis?

No, there was another one (I know I'm not crazy, here- I saw it somewhere I'm SURE of it!!!) that was just barely mentioned. It was in a brief description of the Elven Court Slaughter in one of the older books. Pretty sure it was one of those two, as those are the only ones I had hard copies of until recently, and I saw it a long time ago.

Ah-ha! I KNEW I was not crazy! I only remembered it because I thought it was odd that it was not part of his name as a deity. Seems he dropped it after his ascension. Thank you for the assist, Snowblood. Your research skills are incredible, as always.

It was not odd. Kelemvor dropped his surname too.

On topic: what source is Shevarash's surname from?

SiNafay Vrinn, the daughter of Lloth, from Ched Nasad!

Realms of the Elves?

Yeah, Snowblood tell us...

Pg. 33 of Cormathyr - Empire of Elves has this:
quote:
The archer-guard Shevarash, in an anger tinged prayer to Corellon, vows to become the Seldarine#146;s hand against the drow to extract revenge for the loss of his family.

But there is no mention of his family name in that source that I see or am able to find in the pdf search

Watch it be from a DDI Dragon issue.

If Dagnirion(LK) doesn't know then it has to either be homebrew or really obscure.

-I pine(d) over the really obscure sources, too. Has Shevarash been mentioned in any articles, that anyone knows?

-Thente Thunderspells cited C:EoE, and I flipped through his entry in Demihuman Deities, and it's not there, either. Two sources to check off.

He's only been referenced once, if memory serves -- in the December 2010 issue of DRAGON [#394]. He receives an off-hand mention in the article "Channel Divinity: Corellon's Devoted."

Dang! Don't have that issue so I can't check it.

Can someone see if there is any reference to a Shevarash surname in there?

I'd really like to know if he does have an official surname written/posted somewhere.

Does anyone know if Shevarash is one of Ed's original creation or another Realms designer? We could possibly ask the official source!

I just checked my dad's complete dnd collection. Lord Karsus is Super-King, and Alystra fails hard. Sheverash has no given last name in any published source.

So I guess you actually are crazy, Alystra!

Just googled that last name, myself, and I'm not finding any canon references to it, other than one of the elves in the Dawntree articles on the WotC site.

Fail hard? Obviously not, when Snowblood confirmed it..... I MIGHT be crazy, but BOTH of us?! Hardly likely- and since he IS our resident elf-expert, I'd gladly bow to his superior knowledge. Now, if I could just remember exactly where that mention was, or if he's feeling froggy enough to point it out, that would be even better. Unfortunately, most of my sources are in boxes at this time. Storage, y'know.

-Being a resident Elf expert (I can literally say I wrote the book on them! That sounds awesome!), and Shevarash does not have a surname. There are no Forgotten Realms sourcebooks that give Shevarash a surname. Your memory is playing tricks on you, here.

-11823 DR

After more than 170 years of vicious guerrilla warfare, the Miyeritari are forced back to their last major stronghold by daemon tainted sons of Vyshaan using high magic with a distinctive daemonic taint. The Vyshaan arts are brutally subtle, often transforming entire villages and companies of elves into stones, trees or minor animals of the forests and plains. The use of wyrms and daemons to deal with the more recalcitrant Miyeritarans sees many massacres go unrecorded as entire communities and their warriors are wiped off of the map. Retaliatory Ilythiiri tactics and Miyeritaran desperation has seen them alienate many of their allies in Illefarn and Shantel Othrieir.

Defnition of an expert: A has been drip under pressure.......
