After finding out that you can meet Obould in NWN on another thread I began wondering if there were any other canon characters in the various video games. So does anyone have a list of appearances of canon characters?
Pending- Durnan possibly appears in the 1997 'Descent to Undermountain [credit: Tamsar]
Other Notes- Possible other Mulsantir characters in NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer (I do not have the game...need confirmation of any characters) [credit: BlackAce]
- Possibly several characters from the 1997 'Descent to Undermountain' (I do not have the game...need confirmation of any characters) [credit: Tamsar]
- Thieran has a theory (top of page 2) about the mage 'Sydney' from the Icewind Dale Trilogy and her possible appearance in Neverwinter Nights I (chapter 2E)

Ah yes the Eye of the Beholder series. Unfortunately my level of expertise within that area is an absolute zero as it was much before my time. Thanks for the contribution though. |

In Curse of the Azure Bonds you meet Alias and Dragonbait and the other characters from Azure Bonds, as well as Fzoul, who dies. You also meet Cyric in Throne of Bhaal. |

Actually I just remembered Demon Stone, though I wish I could just forget about it. It had: Thibbledorf Pwent, Zhai (who makes an appearance in Promise of the Witch-King which I guess makes her canon?), Khelben and Drizzt |

In Demon Stone you meet Khelben (voiced by Patrick Stewart), and at one point you get to play as Drizzt. |

Hmmm, gets me thinking. Light, are you asking regarding ALL cannon characters, or simply those who appear in novels and then in video games??? |

To be quite honest I don't really know what you mean. What I don't want however is somebody to say "Sarevok!" because he was canonized in the novel. So yeah, I guess what I want is people who make a cameo appearance or the like. Guess I broke my own rule though by suggesting Zhai.

Ah yes, that's right. I believe the exalted leader, Arklem Greeth was among them. Not sure about the others though.
There's also those Twisted Rune members that you can meet in Baldur's Gate II. Not sure which ones though, guess I'll look it up. |

(That is SOOO my faveorite level of the game, along with the appearance by Khelban!) I think the Yuan-ti "god" is also technically canon in that game. As are several of the minor NPC's. Can't remember any of the names off-hand, though.
I always found the defense of Mithral Hall took too long. Seriously the fighting goes on for long enough to give me RSI. Did enjoy playing as Drizzt though, pretty cool.
I'm going to update the list at the top of the page with everyone's suggestions so that names aren't repeated etc. |

Been researching the Twisted Rune members that appear in BGII and it seems that they are: Shangalar, Shyressa the Vampire, and the elder orb Vaxall.quote: Originally posted by Alystra Illianniis Drizzt also appears as a "secret" character in both of the Dark Alliance games. Artemis is also in DA II. And Eldrth of the Dark Tower is also in DA. I seem to remember a couple of others from those games being canon (the drow monk PC?) as well, but it's been a while since I played them.
I think I'll refrain from putting Drizzt and Artemis in for DAII due to them not making an appearance aside from unlockable PCs. Also this "Eldrth", I've never heard of him nor could I find him on google, where can I get information about him? |

More searching around has led me to a "Eldrith of the Onyx Tower". I'm guessing this is your "Eldrth of the Dark Tower". She also appears in Races of Faerūn but in my opinion I'm not sure if that warrants a placing in the list, sorry. Also I couldn't find anything about any of those DA PCs being canon.
EDIT: My apologies Alystra Illianniis, I will put Eldrith in afterall. |

Regis is missing from the list too, we meet him in BG II.
I *think* we met Elaith in NWN2 too, might be wrong... I *think* Pool of Radiance (the old school one) featured Alusair.
On the topic of BG, Tethtoril and Ulraunt are canon (they're mentioned in Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast). And the other Dukes are canon too, not only Eltan.
@ Light - drow monk PC? Do tell more... if he's really canon...
Who's Vaxall? I played Baldur's Gate series a lot of times and I don't really remember him. |

If you read back you'll find that Alystra Illianniis was the one to say that the drow monk pc was canon, my reply being "I couldn't find anything about any of those DA PCs being canon".

Yes it seems Belt, Liia Jannath and Entar Silverhsield (the dukes) are canon, good work they will be added to the list. While on the topic of Volo; I believe he is in BGI and TOB. And Regis, dear Regis, how could I have forgotten him?
As for Vaxall: He is an elder orb, agent of one of the runemasters (maybe all of them I'm not entirely sure how the Twisted Rune works). He is referenced in the 2e Lands of Intrigue. If I remember rightly, Shangalar will, when you fight him in BGII, summon a variety of monsters, Vaxall is with them. |

Demogorgon at the end of the Watcher's Keep is canon.
And the Alibakkar nobles, must be, tough I'm not sure about their first names. |

I completely forgot about Demogorgon but know that I remember him I also remember Mephistopheles from NWN: HotU. I know that that the Alibakkar nobles, as a family, are canon but I'm not too sure about the actual family members that appear in Baldur's Gate. I'll have to load up BG and go to Trademeet on the weekend to get their names but even then I don't actually know much at all about them anyway so does anyone know where I can find any substantial information on these guys?

Couldn't find anything supporting Elaith being in NWN2 but that dosen't mean it isn't so. If anyone knows more about this then please post. Yep, Alusair was definitely in Pool of Radiance and will add her. |

There were several more characters from Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast in Baldur's Gate. Off my head: Taerom Fuirum surely. I don't have time right now to check several others...
@ Light: Maybe putting the novel/sourcebook in which the character is (aside from the most-wellknown) would be a good idea? |

Whoops, how embarrassing. What I meant to say is "Elminster is also in Pool of Darkness!". That also applies for Alusair, not sure if she is in Pool of Radiance.

Actually Alustriel, Drizzt, Elminster, Khelben and Piergeiron all appear in Baldur's Gate II as part of a challenge/riddle in the shaugin city. I won't put them in the list because they don't talk and don't do anything at all, but nevertheless I thought I'd share this with everyone. |
