Other than sea elves and lythari, have you left any off of your list?

Now sea elves, they're different. They smell more like rotting fish. Living in a fishing town, I can tell you that's a particularly unpleasent smell.

Maybe I'll say Moon elves, only because the shape of their skulls make better ashtrays.

I'm not sure I have a favourite, since I'm not really an "elf-guy."

If I had to choose, though, I'd say either lythari or avariel.

D: What kind of monsters are you guys?!?!?! Eh, no matter. My Crone of Kiaransalee just loves torturing clercs of Asmodeus and then reanimating their corpses for slaves. My Star Elf Cosmic Sorcerer quite enjoys blastig orcs to bloody chunks with comic energy. He fidz their squeals quite hysterical.s

It's hard to find the hire ground when we're all wallowing in the muck and mire, isn't it?

Killing elves is no more or less moral than killing orcs, gnolls, goblins, or kobolds. It's just considerably more fun.

Not sure what to say here...can't quite understand what is going on.

As for my favorite elven race, it isn't from Faerun (being Valley Elves), but I will take Gold Elves for 1000 Alex.

It sounds like thrad's elf would make a good pain devil, if she enjoys mutilation so much.

Take that Arik!! You've just been blasted with comic energy. That's hilarious.

Mine looks far too much like a drow for my liking. Would have prefered a tiefling, 4e style, but none to be had. Chose this one because my namesake character's favorite form (while in Baator) is that of a tiefling with skin the color of volcanic ash and eyes that glowed like flowing lava. Figured "Black skin and glowing red eyes is....close?"

Easy enough to fix. All you need is a link to this scroll, an avatar image that meets Alaundo's requirements and approval, and enough patience to wait 2d6 weeks.

My fave Quessir? Easy- those Mori'Quessir. (That's drow, to the rest of you.) Although my second fave is a three-way tie between Moon, Avariel, and Lythari. Hate those snooty Gold elves. (I mean, REALLY- naming yourself after the most precious metal? THAT'S hubris for ya!) Sea elves are cool, if you don't mind going swimming FOR LIFE. And the Wood and other varieties are just too bland to interest me- except maybe the Star elves. I'd like to see more about them. What book were they in, again? I may have to hunt them down, so to speak.

Meh, except for Avariel (because it's very hard not to notice wings), Sea elves (they do smell like brine when they sweat but it isn't polite to say so) and lythari (who have a faint odor of wet dog about them when they sweat)... They all seem the same in the dark.

Rants and reviews that interest no one may be found here.

Star Elves are boring. A buncha Moon Elves too cowardly to stand and fight that ran off to live in their own little pocket dimension. Losers!

I've got love for the rest, except I agree with Alystra, them smelly hippy elves running around in the woods have very little to offer me.

Alright, my fave flavors of elf, in descending order:

fey'ri
lythari
moon elves

I love the idea of evil shapechanging elves. Elves that turn into wolves are really cool... And of the "standard" elven races, moon elves are the most adaptable and the ones most likely to mix it up with other races. So I like 'em.

You know, I see a lot of love for the fey'ri, but I can never really understand why. Maybe it's just because I've neither read all that much about them, nor used them to any significant degree in my campaigns.

I'm curious, though, about the opinions from those who do like them. Why is this so?

As for the original question, I honestly don't have one. There are a few elf varieties I like conceptually, in the realms and out side of them, but I haven't seen a type of elf that I actually like in a fictional setting yet.

Ok, that was a lie, I liked the elves in Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

Really? I found them kind of- sad, actually....

Fey-ri!! Love those, too. They are just so E-BIL!!! Well, not all of them, but I like the concept. And another one that is NOT FR canon, but is awesome all the same- the Ghost Elf. I've had a player who used one, and it was one of his better PC's, not to mention just really cool. Ethereal-bred elves that glow in the dark. Make of it what you will. Never need to use a torch in the Underdark again! Plus, they get that nice little ethereal jaunt power.
