They may say that Ant-Man won't be there, but they can insert Goliath or Yellowjacket instead (All of them Pym, old crazed scientist). Pym seriously won't appear? |

I know, but knowing how they try to mix it up in movies... For crying out loud, originally Green Goblin appeared far enough from beginning. And Spiderman? Not the same with all silence during battle. |

| True. First of the big one, that is. Still that psycho had a very privilege the other guys did not have: Spidey knew him and was pulling his punches till he gone too far. I liked Kingpin better. He has something for what you can admire him in a way. Gobbie got better after resurrection. More evil and cunning without being too crazy to think clearly. |

Is Dr. Strange an official member of the Avengers? Or does he just make some occasional appearances as he does in X-Men and Spiderman? |

Dunno. I knew he was affiliated with Defenders group. May be wrong. When Heroes need special help all come to him.
Edit: Oh, he was with New Avengers for some moment. |

Don't forget his tenure as the *new* Wasp as well. |

'Twas actually Amazing Spider-Man #14. [I'm still trying to find an original copy of that issue...] |

The good Doctor's team-allegiances have seen him affiliate with many organisations -- for example:- the Defenders, the New Avengers, the Midnight Sons, the Secret Defenders, and the Illuminati.
He does have reserve-Avenger status also, as I recall. |

Ah, yes. Thanks on both counts, Sage. I did not remember the exact issue number, but I knew it was in the teens. And yeas, Pym is indeed the new Wasp. One of the things about the Skrull War and its fallout that I really disliked, BTW.
Sill- yes, Strange was (not sure if he still is, I've not read an ish for over a year) with the New Avengers- the part of the group that sided with Cap in the Superhero Civil War, that is. He was and still is in the Defenders as well. Also, During the Civil War Kingpin also went too far, when he hired the hit-man that shot Pete's Aunt May (Sorry for spoilers!) Pete actually broke into the prison where he was being held, and beat him senseless, and even threatened to kill him! (By sticking his fist in Fisk's mouth with fingers on the web-shooters- he told him he'd come back and shoot webs down his throat and fill his lungs with it if she died!) The hit-man had been aiming for Pete, but his spider-sense wanred him, and he dove out of the way with M-J. May was hit instead, and ended up in a coma. Thus came the infamous deal with Mephisto..... |

Marvelgirl?! ROFLMAO!!! Funny you should call me that, but MsMarvelDuckie is my poster name over on Marvel's forums.
Dennis- the Illuminati was originally Strange, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Blackbolt, Xavier, Black Panther, and Namor. All the most "powerful men" in the MU. Note that does not necessarily mean "powerful heroes", but influential and leadership-wise. |

It seems like Dr. Strange and Pug share common responsibilities. Pug actually founded an organization similar to Illuminati. It's called Conclave of Shadows; the members of which are some of Midkemia's most powerful and influential people [in terms of arcane magical abilities, political power, clerical magic, etc.]. |

| I'm sure Strange has served on at least one Avengers team over the years. Just about everyone in the Marvel Universe has. |

As I said above, Strange has reserve Avenger-status. He can be called upon to serve as an Avenger when the threat to Earth is grave enough.

Doctor Fate needs a new DC series.
In terms of "Strange" mash-ups, though, I've always loved Doctor Doom: Sorcerer Supreme -- combining two of my favourite Marvel characters:- http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_bcS60NRiXFk/ST31MMTv_bI/AAAAAAAAA2c/r6XCqvmt3Ik/s400/What-IF-052.jpg
Dunno. But if he shows his face always and is as handsome as Julian McMahon, the actor who played him in movies, I think it'd be great. |

*casting rez scroll* It's not completely on-topic, but I was wondering who all has seen the X-Men: First Class movie, and what they all think. I sort of liked it myself, except for a few minor issues with the time-line.
First, Darwin and Pixie (Angel? REALL?!) should not have been BORN, much less of an age to be involved in the story. This was my biggest gripe.
Second, Darwin was killed off MUCH too quickly- so much wasted potential there, it looked like they did it just to have a reason for the kids to "grow up", and because they had no idea what to do with his character.
Other than that, I thought most of the characters were handled pretty well. Sean Cassidy was great, as was Shaw and Emma Frost. Much more in line with the canon with her this time around. Also I loved the cameo by Logan! And did anyone see Stan Lee? EitherI missed it, or he was not IN this one! |

All Logan said was, "Go **** yourself!" What a line for a cameo!
Charles and Erik's friendship is somewhat laced with homosexual love.
I don't get the scene at the beach. They have a teleport with them. Why didn't they just hold hands and vanish instead of waiting for Erik to stop all the missiles? Oh, well, most probably the writers ran out of scenes where they could conveniently show the cause of Charles's "accident." |

Despite my eternal love for all-things-X-Men, I promised the Lady K that I would wait until she has a break in her work schedule, so we could go and see it together. [Mental note... Don't focus too much on Emma Frost. ]

I love the fact that they included included Havok, though. He's always been my favourite among the extended Summers-clan.

Havoc's one of my favorites, too. If he wasn't that sexy, that body shaking he does while unleashing his power would have looked ridiculous.
Are Darwin, Angel (Pixie?), and Banshee new characters? Never heard of them before. Did they appear in the first animated X-Men series? X-Men: Evolution? Wolverine and the X-Men? Couldn't recall... |

Angel and Banshee have been part of X-continuity for a long time... Since long before I was reading comics, and prolly since long before I was reading anything at all. |

Did they die? Or the creators of the animated series simply chose to ignore them? (I don't read the comics, btw.) |
