| Actually, I wouldn't mind some of the stuff from the Happy Birthday arc of Spidey by JMS being used. That possible future-self temporal-linmbo-travel thing was intriguing.... I even based my own comic series on that premise. He changed the furture enough that the end he saw never happened, but he still ended up getting killed- except that his son's name was never Ben- for that very reason. (If you've read those issues, Sage, the key scenes I used were when his future self spoke to him at the graveside, and mentioned the son named Ben, and then the next issue with the tailor and the costume design he gave Pete.) |

| The problem is that the film rights to Spiderman and the Xmen are owned by different companies, preventing Marvel from actually using them in their in house movies. |

No. It's actually in joking reference to Alystra's dislike of the "Brand New Day" changes in Amazing Spider-Man. It's where Spidey begs Strange to go back in time and prevent Aunt May's shooting. |

Pretty much. Strange is actually quite capable of stopping and/or reversing time. Afterward, we see his command over the reversal of time on a planetary scale.

Just hope, Alystra, that they hate Hannah Montana. Otherwise the torture might be useless. |

Thanks, Sage. Actually, I happen to have a close friend who is, like you, a certified fan of Dr. Strange, [and of Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Green Lantern, and the X-Men]. And he has all the comics and novels [not to mention toys, pens, notebooks, shirts] about those heroes. His old comics, I saw them myself, are still in their pristine condition. But should I have questions even he won't be able to answer, I'll PM you or raise the question in this thread. |

| I'd also be glad to assist if you have questions. I've been a Mod on Marvel's boards for several years now (though I don't get on them as much since they changed the forums) and am probably just as big a fan of several of those heroes as Sage is. Include Deadpool, Fantastic Four, X-Factor, Black Cat, Daredevil, and New Avengers to that, and I can answer most questions. Also some with Red Sonya, Zorro, Hellboy, and Army of Darkness, too, lol! |

I know Strange has the [natural?] ability to see magically hidden beings. But does he also have an x-ray vision, or some spells to utilize it? |

It really depends on the writer. This has been one of the few inconsistent points of Strange's magical ability. Back in the 90's, there was very little Strange couldn't accomplish, while his 60's and 70's appearances tended toward limiting his visual powers to some degree.
Now it's largely undefined and, I would think, left up to the requirements of the story. |

Thanks, Sage and Alystra. You might be wondering why I asked. Well, I'm writing a short story about...let's just say I can't reveal much about it yet, except that I need to make some allusions to a number of famous sorcerers/wizards and their innate and acquired abilities and that my editor would most probably cut her hair short [something she normally does when frustrated and helpless] if I don't finish it today, Manila time [2:16PM]. |

| Cool! Glad to be of help. I've used Strange quite a bit myself in my on-going comic series. The main hero (Hunter/Red-Back) has quite a bit of interaction with him, and receives a rather nasty shock during one particular arc of the story. Let's just say that Strange did some magical tinkering with the lad's DNA before he was born..... It all had to do with a series of alternate futures, and the world ended in all but one of them. Guess which one.... |

If the news is right, the plans for the movies THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA were made long after the plan for DR. STRANGE. The first two are done and ready for release, yet why don't we hear further updates on the latter? Not even whether or not they have already assembled the cast for it. |

I always considered that Dr Strange was really restricting himself with balance ideology. Perhaps he could be the most powerful being given time and knowledge he slowly collected in it.
On non related subject - are they trying to make some kind of universe by these films in unity? Can there be Avengers movie? |

Most probably. Captain American is the first Avenger, [and the movie is going to be released this July]. And some of the Avengers already had their own movies, too. So maybe soon we'll see them together. |

Well, technically, Cap was actually the fourth or fifth Avenger, depending on which continuity you follow. |

Yes, there are plans for an avengers movie. Hulk and Iron Man have already been seeded for this, and Thor and Cap's movies will tie in as well. Black Widow has been intro'd (in IM 2) and the last two avengers- Hank Pym and Janet (Wasp) will likely be in the Avengers movie itself. I've not heard yet if they will get their own movie, though Ant Man(Pym) MIGHT have one.
I think it's been confirmed already that Ant-Man won't be in The Avengers. And there were rumours that he'd receive his own film later... depending on how well Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers work with audiences. |

Hmm, I hadn't heard that. Last I had seen, they were still discussing when or if he'd be in it, and whether there would be a separate Ant Man film. That was early last year, however.
It's news I picked up from the latest WonderCon earlier this month. There's a breakdown of the events on newsarama.com [where elements of The Avengers film were {very} briefly discussed], if you're interested in learning more.
I'll see if I can find the link again.
