To all Zhentarium agents, Zhentilar veterans, magistrates, merchants, artisans, and citizens of the once powerful Zhentil Keep, our time has come. We must re-gather our scattered forces and re-build what we have lost. Events around the Moonsea demand that we take swift action. The High Boot-Licker of Bane, Fzoul, now rules our shattered city with an iron fist. He has allowed (through his divine incompetence) our sworn enemies, the Red Plumes, to occupy Yulash and threaten the Protectorate of Voonlar. Fzoul has allowed the lick-spittle and wanted criminal, Randal Morn, the time necessary to throw off our treaties of friendship. Fzoul has also entered into an alliance with the High Blade of Mulmaster. How many of our brave Zhentilar have the soldiers of Mulmaster killed? Must we suffer their presence within our once-great city? Nothing has been done to re-build the old city! Now, my friends is the time to strike back! Now, when our traditional enemies are in confusion!

Manshoon

Seriously this is just a post to find out who amoung the brethern of Candlekeep call Zhentil Keep their home. Together we can plan some kind of Crusade to return our home to its rightful place of dominance! Please respond my fellow Zhents.

Think what you've always thought, and you'll be what you've always been.

Well met Manshoon- I, Vallandar Arlandar, heed your dark call. The time is ripe for we of the Black Network to claim what is truly ours with mailed fist. Let the Dalelands be washed pure with rebel blood, the Harpers cower and flee like the rats they are as our dark tide washes across the realms and the false god ‘Finder’ be cast down. Long is the list of the Zhentarim’s foes and longer still the debts in pain but by blade and wand they shall be repaid in full.

Vallandar Arlandar, who is known throughout the Sword Coast and beyond for the art of sorcery, devotion to the Black Network and his “enterprise” in trade.

One should be very careful about exposing one's allegiances, especially here at Candlekeep where there are bound to be numerous Harpers agents working to further the cause of Good throughout the Realms...

Best they stay out of our way and reach! I have no love of Cyric but I'd take the chance to ride with his followers if it would mean that I could put a few of those remaining harper fools to eternal rest. The Maggots and crows could use a good feeding around here...

Quite so, good Cardinal, let the Harper fools know and quake in fear att he coming of our footsteps. Still, there may be a better place to devise our strategy than this open room.. mayhap we should retire to a private room in the inn to plot this "crusade"...

Why stop at mere words when there are battles to be planned and transactions to plot. Manshoon and Cardina, I will meet you at the Inn, doubtless Cyric will watch over us, unless your boldness is confined to bold words only...

I have a few questions.
Is Zhentil keep being rebuilt these days? Since Bane's return is he claiming his old country?
And I know MAnshoon is a vampire now and the leader of night masks does he have any intentions of ruling zhents again?

ok , ý learned something about my question maybe you can be intrested . Manshoon becomes a vampire in westgate. why is he there? he isn't actually. this is his statis clone activated after his death at the hands of Fzoul. 1369 DR during the Manshoon wars he and Semmemnon defeated by Fzoul and Orgath. Semmenon fled to Darkhold and Fzoul took over Citadel of Raven. Don't worry I don't think Cyric will accept this and since Manshoon is still alive (sort of) and he is a major power in Westgate anything is possible. But for me Bane will not lose easily.

Punish me if you will, for my hands are not clean. But deny me not my revenge!"

The Zhents already took back Yulash and Voonlar. There are about three Manshoon's in the Realms now (there was apparently a defect in his "stasis clone" spell). One is still affiliated with the Zhentarim, but no longer in charge. The Western arm of the Zhentarim might splinter from its base due to Cyricist influence and Fzoul's pact with Khelbon Blackstaff. The rise of Shade endagers the Zhent empires' economic prospects, unless an accord can be reached with Shade. Details are in the Forgotten Realms and Lords of Darkness books.

Do you see the amount of confusion Fzoul the False has sown. Our western holdings are in disarray. The Black Road has been cut. Some of our bravest people are now settled on the Silver Marches. And here in Candlekeep we Zhents are divided. How the Harpers must be laughing. I say it is time to throw off the yoke of grasping and self-destructive gods and put our trust in the kind of men and women who made our once fair city great. Death to the lap dogs of Bane and Cyric, let the Cleansing War begin!

While not being able to claim membership with the network, I have done.... 'charity' work on it's behalf... as long as the 'charity' involved 'helping' harpers into the Nine Hells or the Abyss. I do believe that the petty politics of these feeble gods intrudes upon our tasks at hand. I have no qualms about Cyricists and Banites entering the Network, they should not be deciding what the we should do!

Cyric cares only for himself as does Bane! They Care nothing of us! I recall the purges that Cyric called upon his followers in the Keep. The streets and gutters were red with none but Zhent blood. Maddness I say! I have learn a new philosophy from several... friendly fractions on Sigil. I have learned the truth that these 'gods' are pretenders. Ignorant children with too much power! The Athar have taught me much...

Ah the Athar... *Ahem*:
" The Athar work tirelessly to discredit the Gods, interfering with their Clerics, Attempting to sway the faith of their Congregations. The preach supremacy of a force they call the Great Unknown, which transcends the gods and grants Athar the ability to resist divine magic."

They are ....ummm... Philisophical group based in Sigil... Be back with more info later...

If you intend more than just talk, Manshoon, then mayhap you would care to join the cardinal and myself in the inn... our current location seems overrrun by Harper spies. Whilst as a [not so] humble merchant I have no troops of my own to offer a mercenary company of fourty men is currently in my employ... the realms can be a dangerous place to transport cargo [and especially when it keeps trying to escape].

Of a completely opposite philosophy, the 'Names of God' faction-sect believe that to know all the names of the gods is to find truth.

Just an interesting side-thought...

On an intresting side note, some believe that the Athar or ' The Lost' ( although how they are lost remains to be seen) are the hands of the Lady. Any truth to this rumor has yet to come to light... More at 11..
