What I meant by stating that a wizard will win agains a sorcerer is purely personal experience. I have fought against many sorseresses and all of them have fallen even enemies 5 or 6 lvls higher than me. Im just saying that in my experience a wizard is the stronger of the two.
No offense, man, but with the game play you usualy describe, your experience is not a fair benchmark.
Well just gotta say that its not only my char. who is bad to the bone... our enemies is equally power gamed buffed. So on that note I would say that its the whole campaing which is a power play campaing. So the extra feats I have gotten, the items that ive got and stuff are equally divided amung both alies and enemies. So to clear up any mis conseptions... The bad guys we face are probably much tougher than the ones toy guys face! Equally my mage is far more powerful that any of you character

I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

I think that sums up this particular discussion nicely. As far as Sorc v. Wiz, the answer (as per usual) is: It depends. If the character in question is the party's only arcane caster, IMHO, the Wiz is better. Why? The Sorc is *never* going to bother to learn Leomund's Secure Shelter, Arcane Sight, Locate Object, Obscure Object, nor a hundred and one other useful spells that a Wiz might as well learn, since he's under no stricture not to. Also, the question of 'who's your DM' matters a heck of a lot here. Is your DM good about letting you find the spellbooks of slain foes? If so; advantage, wizard. Is he the sort of monster who rarely gives the party a chance to rest and regain spells? If so; advantage Sorc. There are far too many variables to calculate to 'proclaim' one better than the other, but (all things being equal) were I interested in playing the best class, I'd play a Wizard. If i wasn't already playing a Cleric, which is far tougher than either. |

To the question of this thread, well, I don't think so. I say it depends whom we are talking about specifically. Is Galaeron N. cooler than Khelben A.? No. Is the Simbul cooler than Ruha? Yes. |
