Trying to adapt (partially) Paizo's Rise of the Runelords AP in the Realms. I'm looking to get a clearer picture of the area at that time. Here's what I have and used so far.
Peoples
elves - Iliyanbruen (Neverwinter woods) remnants of Rilithar (Kryptgarden) Siluvanede (NW High Forest) Eaerlann (NE High Forest) remnants of Sharrven (S High Forest) Ardeep Halangorn forest (between Elembar and the Horn Hills) Evereska Arundath (Snakewood into the Green Fields)
dwarves - citadels Sundbarr, Adbar, Felbarr, Mithral Hall falling Ironstar, building Thornhammer Hold (Grunwald) Ammarindar (Greypeaks) duchy of Dardath(SW of the High Forest) duchy of Hunnabar/Kanaglym (around Dragonspear Castle) remnants of Oghrann (Far Hills) remnants of mad Haunghdannar sea dwarves
scalefolk - Najara (centered on Forest of Wyrms) Kalran (Serpent Hills)
humans, Illuskan/Netherese mix I guess - Uthtower (Mere of the Dead Men) Yarlith (north of Uthtower) holds of the Mlebryn lands/Baerlith (east of Yarlith) Tavaray (mouth of Delimbyr) Athalantar (around Secomber) Elembar/Delimbiyran (west of Athalantar to Ironford) Barony of the Steeping Falls (Daggerford) Deepwater Harbor farmlands, Halaster's Hold (Waterdeep) Twilit Land (between Neverwinter and Waterdeep) cities of Eigersstor (Neverwinter) and refounded Illusk (Luskan) Grath's Hold (Port Llast) Uthgardt tribes
humans, Ice Hunters and Reghedmen - guess more to the south than today ?
humans, Talfiric - Ebenfar empire other Talfiric tribes (picture them somewhat like the eastern Celts or the Hyborian Cimmerians) ?
humans, other - Angardt (Tun) remnants of the duchy of Indoria (Netherese ruled, Fields of the Dead) beginnings of the kingdom of Shavinar (bettween the Troll Hills and Chionthar) Netherese remnants in Illusk, Ascalhorn, Philock (east of the Wood of Sharp Teeth) The Gur fit for Varisians, tough less settled, Desna is an alias of Selune The Shoanti are somewhat celtic, related to the Talfir tribes, and to the southern Mir tribes Kellid are widespread into Anauroch (not so sandy), mixed with the Rengarth the giants in Darkhold
Neighboring realms - Cormyr (Boldovar the Mad's reign) Tathar (western end of Vilhon) ??? Meiritin (halflings, eastern Amn, tough I have Amn where is Calimshan) Andlath (Shining Plains, centaur slaves) Tethyr
These power groups were active -
Olin Gisir Magelords (Athalantar, Ebenfar etc. The Kraken Society (maybe not yet established in Yarlith) Knights of the Shield (recently outlawed) the beginnings of Eldreth Veluuthra
What else was there, or what else do you imagine in the North or the Heartlands, for example how far north did the human settlements reach (I know there was Hartsvale with the Netherese but that appears isolated), or how do you imagine the pantheon of Talfir?

Halaster Blackcloak.
He calls periodic Hunts into the future Undermountain. |
"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding." Alaundo of Candlekeep |

yea, there are the Melairkyn dwarves and drow there, but don't plan to use that area, more around the Winding river for Magnimar.
I noticed that both Larloch and Vaerraketh (sp) have the Shadow King title, there could be a connection. |
