Is there a concrete date for when this occured? I am currently running a campaign that runs from Halaster's death to Mystra's and possibly beyond. I have a Shadowbane Inquisitor of Helm (Ty to Mr. de Bie for giving me some ideas on how to bring this class into the realms), and I am trying to figure out when and for how long this player might be without spells, due to his gods death, and his personal reaction to it.
Thanks G

Well Met,
Your answer, 1384 DR, is on page 159 of the Grand History of the Realms. Good luck with the campaign!

Well, The Fractured Sky does indeed mention Helm's death, but only in a couple of sentences. Thing is, this trilogy takes place in the planes, so the concept of "time" gets thrown around like a ship in a storm. There's a big difference between planar time and material time, though I'm not sure what the equivalence is. No precise date is given for Helm's death. Even if it was, were it to have appeared in this trilogy, that date would probably be in a different form than any mortal reckoning, since the setting is not Toril. Hope this provides at least some closure. |

There is the fluidity of time of the outerplanes, there is also the temporal stasis prisons that the main characters were dwelling in for most of the trilogy, but that is really beside the fact. Helms death would have at least within his church potentially been a 'religion shattering event.' I know that currently there is no cannon date in print, I guess what I am asking is there one forthcoming, or will it remain a mystery lost to time and space forever. I mean I can make up a date, thats what a DM does, but I would rather not... Maybe Mr. Reid had a date he was shooting for or an idea how much time there was between these events? |

Well, if you're dead set, you could always stroll on over to the Chamber of Sages and just ask him yourself. He hasn't mentioned it to my knowledge, but if anyone would know, he would. |

Erik Scott de Bie's book, Downshadow. Page 98 has some insight on what became of Helm and whether or not he actually died. |
