I can't seem to forget Shar's dogma, "Love is a lie. Only hate endures," which Rivalen said more than once in the TW series.

I don't know the exact wording... and I can't remember which book it was in... My favorite is most definitely from Torm (the thief, not the god) as he kicks either a Zhent or Cult of the Dragon member in the face.

"Hello, my name is Torm, and these are my feet."

Here's another one by Rivalen (from Shadowstorm by PSK), which relates to one of the articles I wrote on Philosophy:

"Things are what they are, whatever we may think. It is our task to wrestle meaning from meaninglessness while we still can."

Every beginning has an end.

Personally like what Obould said to Drizzt before their second duel.

"Look around you, drow. This is my home now. My kingdom! When you fly on your pet, you see the greatness that is Obould. You see the Kingdom of Dark Arrows. Remember that name for the last minutes of your life. You die in Dark Arrows, Drizzt Do'Urden, and will be eaten by birds on a mountain side in the home of King Obould."

I just love the conviction.

"Then I saw there was a way to Hell even from the gates of Heaven"

Spellfire. I think the line was closer to "Well met, witch. I'm Torm, and these are my feet!"

I also like one of Vishna's advice to Matteo in Wizardwar (by Elaine Cunningham):

"Do not to take responsibility where there is none, for such is just a form of pride."

I have been telling myself that I need to start taking notes when I read books to help recall characters and major events and to remember great quotes.

The two I came across recently that I thought were pretty good were both in Whisper of Venom and both from Gaedynn

"You realize this is stupid. Maybe not let's-go-to-Thay-and-fight-Szass-Tam stupid, but stupid nonetheless." That one's good because they did just that in a previous book.

This was after telling a wizard that he is to accompany Gaedynn (on Griffon back) to help him scout.
Wizard:" I didn't ask to learn to ride a griffon."
Gaedynn: "That's one of the advantages of military life. Your superiors provide you with interesting experiences you didn't even know wanted."

A good one from Aoth (that I hope I remember corretly) from the previous book: "I have lived and fought in Thay my lord. I doubt I will be impressed."

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.

I'm just finishing up Shadowstorm by Paul Kemp. I laughed heartily, after Riven, Magadon and Cale slay the shadow-wyrm, Furlinastis, and Riven says, "I need a drink and two women. Or a woman and two drinks. I'll decide on the way." Priceless. I'd, no doubt, feel the same way.

Love is a lie. Only hate endures. Light is blinding. Only in darkness do we see clearly.

"Oh, you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but.. blinding. The shadows betray you because they belong to me." - Bane The Dark Knight Rises

I also like that line by Aoth.

One more I find interesting:

"Swear no great oaths. Men who swear oaths are doomed to die by them. One thing hunts and hounds them—an' so, they waste and stunt their lives." -Helm to Elminster, The Making of a Mage by Ed Greenwood
