I seem to recall there being a rule to the effect of magic items for animals being half the cost, but I can't seem to find it any where. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Not sure about magic items, but I do know Barding costs MORE for the mount than a PC's armor.
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.
