I have the following knowledge skills:
Knowledge (Ancient Artifacts) Knowledge (Ancient Spells) Knowledge (Arcana) Knowledge (Demons) Knowledge (Dragons) Knowledge (Elven Culture) Knowledge (Geografy) Knowledge (History) Knowledge (Nature) Knowledge (Netheril) Knowledge (The Planes) Knowledge (Religion) Knowledge (Undead)
What more would a wise old wizard want? |

Why are you specializing so much? Dragons falls under Arcana, Demons fall under Planes, and Undead fall under Religion. I can see how the Ancient skills, Elven Culture and Netheril would be specialized, but not the others.
My advice is that you have the basics (Arcana, Architecture and engineering, Dungeoneering, Geography, History, Local, Nature, Nobility and royalty, Religion, The planes), but if you want to go outside it, think more of a sage/expert. Knowledge (Dragons of the Trollmoors) or Knowledge (Vampiric Lords of the Dales). |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

I agree with Ashe here on that. A lot of the knowledges you have are all great and fine, but they are covered already in a lot of knowledge skills already. You could add, however, Astronomy, Astrology, Medicine, Anatomy, Economics, Occult and Secret Societies, War, and Local: <insert location here> with as many locations as possible.
That would be some things I would suggest, but again depends on the old wise sage you're making. And while Medicine and Anatomy might be covered under the Heal skill, they are specialized enough that they would offer a circumstance bonus to the Heal check considering a knowledge in Medicine would have formalized training the application of drugs and greater knowledge of diseases, poisons, etc. than say someone with the paramedic skill level, which is how I see the Heal skill. Again since in most campaign settings Medicine is fairly much ignored when you can go to the local divine or arcane caster and have a disease/poison/life threating injury removed, but a wizard might have learned it just in case he had to find a way to heal himself or someone else if healing magic is not readily avaliable.
At least that is my defense for having it. |

Well the reason for my very specialized skills like demons is that when facing a demon he could roll a skill chec to remember what immunities it had for instance. The knoeledge planes skill I see more as knowledge of how planes work, and exist. How hell is build and what elements rage on the diferent planes just like local knowledge of an area. The same with undead and dragons; dragon anatomi snd stuff. Their weeknesses and immunities woul pop up under this skill.
Hope Im making sence!
Am I wrong to make this build? |
