Well, now. Spotted via ENWorld.
I wonder if they'll do the same for Dragon?

| Maybe. I guess at this point I wouldn't be surprised. |

What's bad with a paper compilation once a year ? |

I'd personally love one for Dragon. I'm okay with the .pdfs for Dungeon.
What's really interesting to me is that they'll almost certainly have to do a fair amount of redesign work given the landscape/portrait issue. Unless they chose to bind it as is, which I can't see. They'd either have to bind on the "top" or on the left and have a book that's wider than it is tall. Neither one of those options has historically been popular with booksellers or readers outside the humor and kids markets. |

You tell me, I didn't say anything was "bad". |

Hmm... $29.95 for a complete year of Dungeon. Assume they do the same for Dragon, so $59.90 for 320 pages of compiled articles on the web. that comes out to roughly $5 a month for 26 (more or less) pages of material. Currently, the DDI cost is being sold at $7.95, so the Character Builder, Rules Compendium, DMG Table/tile, and Character visualizer should be worth about $2.95.
Just kidding! I'm sure it's worth more than that. Y'know, when it's going to work. |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

| Would have been nice to have one of these each year for the 3.x versions of the mag. Since I have no intention of buying 4e, this product is useless to me. |

| Well, we don't know any product details, yet. Annual doesn't necessarily mean "all content." It might be a relatively slim "best of" thing, or it might be a complete repackaging with full sized maps. Most likely it's something in between. If it were me, for example, I'd break out the Scales of War Adventure Path into its own book. |

You did notice that its the annual for 2009? I wouldnt expect an annual compilation to come out until the end of that year. If you already have all the Dungeon Magazines why would you need to buy them again?
When I was still buying Dungeon I didnt get all of them, just the ones with interesting modules (after flipping through the pages a few times). With a hardcover you dont really have that choice. Now if they would change the format of Dungeon so you could file them (like the 2nd edition Monster Manuals) and sort the modules by level or by "interesting / boring" that would probably be great. |
