You may have to. I don't recall it, myself, and unless it's tied to a major scene, it could take some time to flip thru the books to find the reference.
Not only that, but there are some people here, myself included, that didn't find that trilogy all that enjoyable. |

I am assuming that the answer falls within the RotAW trilogy, but I have not had time to flip through my set of the trilogy either. I was a fan, even with some of the inconsistencies to existing realmslore. |

That's probably the best idea at this point. I do recall the actual scene, but I just don't remember where in the three books it actually takes place.

And I think, for future reference, questions similar to what Fillow has asked here recently, should at least note which novel they are referring to, and whether it was during the beginning, middle, or end of the tale. This is especially so for stories taking place over multiple books, like a trilogy, or series like the "War of the Spider Queen" for example. |

Made with pickled beholder brains, it's a favorite of fire giants. What is the name of this meal ? It is the yaddleskwee. The answer is in The Sorcerer, Chapter ten. The secene takes place when Aris is enslaved and works by Malik. Yder visit them and asks Aris why he does not eat. The stone giant answers he only wants to eat yaddleskwee, a meal that he hates in fact. But at this moment, the giant has Chosen in his stomac and he must not eat anything.

I have a feeling that one is from a Dragon article, but it's just a hunch. I could easily be wrong, here.
Anyhow, what series was The Sorceror part of it? None of that sounds in the least bit familiar to me...
As an aside, Beholder brains must be VERY tastey, because Illithids had a farm of them just to harvest their brains (Spelljammer). In fact, they were described as "Big, juicy brains". <insert 'yuck' smiley> |

The Sorcerer was one of the books in the mixed-review Return of the Archwizards trilogy. |

Some people love the trilogy. I'm not one of them. But to each his own, and all that. |

I must say, I re-read fair chunks of it for the work on GHotR and it kind of grew on me. There were still elements that provoked quasi- moments like why Denning had to use barbarians from Vaasa of all places [Off the top of my head I could have given him a great, tied-to-Netheril barbarian link if he'd asked ... ) and I wasn't hugely enamoured of his Chosen characterizations. The protagonists were okay but my main issue with the novel trilogy was that nature of the RSE it depicted, not the story itself. But I'm thread-tangenting so I'll leave it for another day and another topic.

The Sword of the Ages is also rumoured to have the ability to pass through Evermeet's defences.

Here's my next question:
The ranger Haelam Sunderstone used what to destroy an orc horde pouring south past the Coldwood? |

He "undoubtedly" used spellfire!

My question is; Why was the Windlass conclave's island assault in DR 724 so unsuccessful? |

Wow, I didn't expect that question to be answered so quickly! I figured going for a bit of a sidenote would be more challenging. |

I had some time, went through; Volo's guide to the North The North Boxed set Hall of Heroes Waterdeep & the North 1st Ed Boxed set The Savage Frontier
Then I found it, sorta randomly actually.
So it wasn't easy, more luck than anything else. |

the assault on the isle of Ilighon was unsuccessful after the 2 remaining wizards of the windlass, spells and magic items did not function, while the druids powers remained unaffected. The attack was repelled and the remaining members of the windlass lose their lives. not an exact quote.

Elminster was allowed to take one thing to keep from the Vault of Ages, after his month long judgment period, dictated by the Coronal of Myth Drannor. What was the one thing Elminster chose to keep? |
