Character
Description and HistoryAngelo was
born on the moon of Toril. This moon is entirely devoted to the worship of Leira, and is a
spelljamming society. He was raised in a communal boys home, and never knew his parents.
As a child he was withdrawn and quiet, and was eventually taken in by a human that had
retired from the Shao Lung empire on Toril. This old man taught Angelo both the physical
and the mental disciplines of the Orient, as well as much of his knowledge of
Spelljamming. As soon as Angelo reached the age of 16, he hired on to a spelljamming
vessel as a member of its crew.
Angelo served on board many spelljamming vessels, and had some
adventures with other groups. Then the Riders of Elvenflow hired him as first mate on
their spelljamming vessel. Baish Canterbury was acting as the captain, and Angelo served
him well as first mate. When the Riders ran into trouble with some of their old enemies
while in space, they were surprised that their first mate was able to help them out so
well. The Riders eventually returned to Toril, and they took Angelo with them.
Angelo remained as a member of the Riders for quite some time. He was
placed in stasis with most of the rest of the party, and remained there for some time.
After being released from stasis, the group split up. Angelo had always felt great loyalty
to Baish (he had been his captain, had always treated him well, and had saved his life on
numerous occasions), so Angelo adventured with him for quite some time. During a huge
adventure to save all of Toril, Baish ascended to demigod status, and assumed control of
the country of Unther. Angelo remained by his side, and helped his master (or his
"Captain", as Angelo insisted on calling him) rule the country. Shortly
afterward, Baish relinquished his power to prevent Cyric from taking it. This allowed
Tiamat to return from the nether regions, and lay claim to Unther. Some of the other
Riders had journeyed to Unther to aid Baish, and a terrific battle ensued. In the
tremendous battle, Angelo was separated from the rest of !
the Riders, and was lost. He has yet to resurface, and Baish and the
Riders are doing everything they can to find him. Tiamat has insinuated that she has
hidden him somewhere in Unther, but believing a chaotic evil goddess in chancy at best.
The only thing that is certain is that, if he is still in Unther, he is undoubtedly doing
his best to make Tiamat miserable.
Angelo is rather odd looking. He is very short and pale, as are all
denizens of the moon. (He rarely tells people that he is from the moon. He just gets
strange looks.) Angelo's short size and relative lack of strength (at least for a fighter,
especially for a fighter in the Riders), tends to make him underestimated. While he is
relatively weak (his hit points are atrocious!), he is an excellent martial artist, and
incredibly brave. Angelo is very quiet (another rarity in the Riders), and tends to speak
only when directly addressed. However, most of the Riders consider him to be something of
a joke, and never address him.
Angelo has a very strong Oriental outlook on life. He has devoted his
life to the teachings of the true martial artists, and follows them strictly. He is very
modest, and never raises his voice, or allows anger to get the better of him. He believes
strongly in honor, and follows Baish because of that. He has died numerous times while
with the Riders, and many times that is because he was protecting Baish with his life. He
has jumped in the way of spells and monsters on numerous occasions. He feels very strongly
in doing the right thing, and becomes frustrated on rare occasions by Baish's sometimes
selfish actions. But Baish has been getting better, and Angelo is proud to serve him. |
