i voted favored soul for 4 reasons
1. cast same amount of spells
2. favored souls can cast healing spells
3. favored souls can handle themselves in melee
4. favored souls can wear armaor

So ... what are Favored Souls?

Basically, the "sorcerer" version of the cleric class--a cleric who uses spontaneous casting for all spells.

"Instead of asking why we sleep, it might make sense to ask why we wake. Perchance we live to dream. From that perspective, the sea of troubles we navigate in the workaday world might be the price we pay for admission to another night in the world of dreams."

Ah, OK, thank you. Like the shugenja in OA, which I happen to read right now.

I'd have to go with sorcerors (though I also like Favored Souls) simply because we got more information on the 'types' of sorceror and their spellcasting than we did the Favored Soul.

Though being a FS who is empowered by a deity either alien to or just illegal in the local culture could make for a fun character background.

I have to vote for the Favored Soul. As an all around character vs the more spellcasting type. While I have mainly enjoyed playing as a sorcerer myself, I have recently learned that Favored Soul cast about as many spells plus healing, and can handle himself in combat quite well if things turn smash and cut.

-I find the entire concept of the Favored Soul a bit silly.

I like both really. They are actually the same thing with different power sources. I do like flavor of the favored soul although I don't like the name as much (should have been the Mystic) and I always thought it was dumb they would be proficient in their deities weapon. Why? They don't even need to be associated with their deity at all. They should have left that with the clerics

I like the idea of Favored Souls. Especially the Weapon Focus of the Deity's weapon....more combat oriented but weaker with undead than cleric....but compared to sorcerer, yeah I would take Favored Soul me thinks.

favored soul.
cant cast domain spells, but can have a blast casting while airborn, have to do so with spells or other abilities as a sorcerer, or wizard for that matter.

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power
