Everyone has a favourite character. And if not a definite favourite, everyone has one that's the most memorable, or at the very least, a current character. So who are they? What makes them so special? I love reading about other people's characters, and hearing about their adventures because it gives me so many ideas that I can use in the future. I'm greedy like that.
So anyways, I guess I'll start off. This guy isn't my favourite character ever, he's just the most recent one I've been working on. Feel free to use the format I've provided below if you'd like, or not. Add in as much or as little information as you care to.
Full Name: Fadi Ash Shakur Birth Name: Ulmgurrath Crow's Blood, Son of Nulmgath the Biter Race: Half-Orcish (Calishite by birth, Nelantherese by heredity) Homeland: Calimshan, though not by choice. Age: 31 Height: 6'5" (195.6cm) Weight: 364lbs (165.45kgs) Build: Broad-chested and heavy, with long limbs and especially coarse body hair. Hair: Black, worn short with a well-oiled beard one fist in length and prominent side-locks (similiar in appearance to Jewish peyot) which tumble down to his chest in tight curls. Eyes: The left is amber in colour, the right is an empty socket covered by a patch of black leather.
Class: Paladin of Ilmater 3 Alignment: Lawful Good (Well, in theory) Stats: STR 14, DEX 13, CON 14, INT 13, WIS 15, CHA 15 Personality: About as friendly and outgoing as you can get, Fadi is renowned for being a bit on the blunt side. A principled Ilmatari healer, singer of bawdy drinking songs, righteous defender of the oppressed, and heedless casanova in turns, he is always quite serious when it comes to helping others and getting things done. Although faithful and good-natured to a fault, Fadi is possessed of a disturbing black humour, and can be quite bitter at times when confronted with memories of his painful history. He is given to excesses (especially women and booze, but not particularly in that order), and when upset, will turn to them as a vice if given the opportunity.
Hobbies: Drinking, wenching, and smiting.
History: Ulmgurrath's father, Nulmgath the Biter, hailed from the Nelanther Isles of the Trackless Seas, and had once been a fierce and proud warrior of the Crow's Blood Tribe. He had been a many-blooded veteran of more than twenty-five honour battles then; a tyrant who owned seven wives and thrice as many slaves. He had fathered seventeen sons over the course of his villainous life, eleven of them pure-blooded.
But that was many years ago now. Nulmgath, it seems, had been destined for lesser things.
Betrayed by his treacherous young son, Urtogg the Eater-of-Men, an enraged Nulmgath found himself in chains aboard the prison ship, Hellion; a voiceless man amidst a sea shackles, bound for the slave ports of Calimshan and a life of servitude. Destined to bend the knee to womanish men who stink of perfumes and unmerited power. He seethed at the thought of it all, and took many human women by force in the belly of the Hellion before his fury was quenched.
One of them would give him a son. Nulmgath named the child Ulmgurrath and tore out his right eye in the hope that he might better see the will of Gruumsh. In Calimport, however, the two were seperated prior to being placed upon the auction block. Nulmgath the Biter was sold, along with countless others, into the hands of a Thayan Enclave, but Ulmgurrath, crippled by the loss of his eye, was determined to be of little to no value, and was given over to the House of Bound Hands instead. The monks would heal his wounds, educate him, and in the name of Holy Ilmater, go on to raise the half-orc as a member of their esteemed order.
The day that Ulmgurrath came of age, he swore his Oath and took on the title of "Paladin". In doing so, he denounced his birth name and took up a new one in the style of his Ilmatari brothers; Fadi Ash Shakur (literally, "Fadi the Grateful").
There's obviously more, but I don't want to bore you.
Likes: Helping those in need, upbeat Calimshani tunes played on Yartings, proving his point by force, curvaceous women with low standards, beer filled charred rolls (by the dozen), and leaving before the girl wakes up.
Dislikes: Long-winded speeches, being forced to sit through long-winded speeches, orcs in general, oppression in all its forms, and anything played on a damned songhorn.

As he knelt on the ground with his brothers around and the taste of his blood on his tongue, His brothers knelt by him and prayed him a prayer, and he smiled and he laughed and he sung, "Brothers, oh brothers, my days here are done, the Dornishman's taken my life, But what does it matter? For all men must die, and I've tasted the Dornishman's wife!" |

While my favorite characters are Xysma and Chamber Dargon, I seem to have an attachment to a young arcane trickster that I created but haven't played yet. His name is Taggerd Sul.
Taggerd Sul
Full Name: Taggerd Sul Race: Human (Tethyrian) Homeland: Gallard, The Border Kingdoms Age: 25 Height: 5'10" Weight: 164lbs Build: Skinny and lanky with large hands and feet. Hair: Brown, shaggy and unkempt locks combined with a goatee and usually a few days' worth of stubble. Eyes: Taggerd has his mother's eyes, a striking bright green color.
Class: Rog4/Wiz5/ArT1 Alignment: Neutral Good Stats: STR 10, DEX 16, CON 13, INT 18, WIS 11, CHA 14
Personality: To all appearances, Taggerd is an inexperienced young rogue who dabbles (usually unsuccessfully) in magic, an image that he cultivates to throw his enemies off guard. In reality Taggerd is an accomplished rogue and a talented wizard. He is quick-witted and observant though he takes great care to hide these facts, always promoting his facade of a likable but unremarkable thief.
Hobbies: Reading (and stealing) spellbooks, studying the art of trapmaking and collecting lore about famous trapsmiths, sampling high quality and exotic tobaccos.
History: Taggerd Sul was born on the 16th of Kythorn in the Year of the Bright Blade. He hails from Gallard of the Border Kingdoms, the son of Aman Sul who served under Ulgarth Hithtor on the Galardian Council of Bodyguards and Trusytblades. Taggerd’s mother was a minor sorceress named Ivana, who was gifted with only one or two very minor abilities. No matter how minor they may have been in the grand scheme of things, Ivana’s cantrips made an impression on her young son. Taggerd was fascinated with his “Momma’s Magic” and spent countless hours begging for her to teach him. Although Taggerd had no innate abilities like his mother, he did have the ability to manipulate the Weave through study, and his mother encouraged him. Ivana disappeared when Taggerd was about 10 years old, and from that point on, no magic of any kind was permitted in the Sul house.
Taggerd gave up his dream of becoming a mage, although he never completely lost the progress he had made under his mother’s tutelage. Aman encouraged his son to take up the path of the sword, but Taggerd resisted, preferring to spend his time on the streets, barely avoiding trouble. Finally tiring of his son’s lack of direction, Aman forced Taggerd to join the Galardian Council of Bodyguards and Trusytblades. Taggerd spent only one season working as a trustyblade before he decided that the drudgery and boredom of life as one of Gallard’s often ceremonial trustyblades would preclude him from ever following in his father’s footsteps. He then quit the Council and moved out of his father’s house, renting a small dingy flat above a firesword house called “The Blackened Boar.” His time as a trustyblade was not a complete waste, since it led him to his new landlady, Riva Sharldun, owner of the “The Blackened Boar.”
Riva is a beautiful woman in her thirties, who was once an adventuring wizard but had settled in Gallard in a state of semi-retirement after a particularly successful adventure. She invested in one of the firesword houses that are so popular in Gallard, becoming famous for the tasty fireswords of her halfling cook, Mearin, a rogue and one of Riva’s former adventuring companions. Riva became fond of the quick-witted young rogue who was much more akin to her in spirit than the uptight trustyblades and bodyguards that are common in Gallard. The two became friends and lovers, and once Riva recognized Taggerd’s talent in The Art, she became his tutor as well. Rather than work long hours each day to make ends meet, Taggerd took to thieving at night with Mearin so he could spend his days training with Riva. As Taggerd’s magical talents and skills as a thief grew, he realized that his two disciplines were not exclusive of one another, but could be combined to form a powerful whole.
Once Riva and Mearin saw the true potential of their new friend, they informed him that they were members of the secret society known as the Harpers, and that they were not actually retired adventurers and the “Blackened Boar” was merely a front. In reality, Riva and Mearin were stationed in Gallard to report to the Harpers on the political turmoil so common in the Borderlands. Not long after this revelation, Riva and Mearin began taking Taggerd with them on their missions, introducing him to several Harpers, and giving him a taste of life as an adventurer.

I think my favorite character of all time is Dalor Nal'Raesik Darden...initials of DND...yeah, I know...corny...but hey I've been playing him since I was a kid! I've played him in so many worlds and for so long he is sort of a silly level...being totally unrealistic to play at all. In the beginning though...
Dalor Nal'Raesik Darden was a 1st Edition Illusionist from the Empire of Alphatia...exiled for not learning proper magic and instead being a lay-about and always up to no good. A serious war changed him though and he became a much more serious and mature person. By the time he was in his early twenties he became a wizard as well...and this later gave him a really strong arsenal of spells to draw on in his role as a War Wizard of the Empire.
I was big on reading the Dictionary then (weird maybe?), and so I went on a spell creating spree. Some of them with names like "Dalor's Deadly Disc" weren't all that special or wordy (although that spell was similar to Lightning Bolt...and I didn't have to worry about those precious coins being melted/fused!); other spells like "Dalor's Rancorous Word of Rebut" were pretty dang sweet spells. That last one was a combination of a Repulsion Spell and some damage to boot to help clear space around me if enemies got too close. Maybe I could write out some of them and post them in a 3.5 format for Candlekeep?
Anyway, Dalor went on to reach too far in his life...trying to capture the heart of Eriadna, ruler of Alphatia...and I mean capture it literally when she spurned him. He got exiled from Alphatia and moved on to the worlds of Krynn (where he shortly had to leave since he became too high level and got tired of fighting off colored robes because he was a renegade), Greyhawk (where he fell for Wee Jas, but that didn't work out either) and finally to the Forgotten Realms where he finally became known as Darkflame after becoming a Shade and falling for the Lady of Loss.
I can't even remember all the details it happened so long ago...but eventually I couldn't really play the fella anymore because who wants to DM a guy that is playing a 17th level Illusionist and 20somethingth level wizard!? So I pretty much retired getting to play him any longer...and instead started using him as a villain in my own DMing. Not the guy people really get to meet or even know about...but the sort of guy that causes things to happen through layers and layers of intrigue and plotting. Being a Shade made him really fun to play as a baddie and he caused many fun things for the party: sponsored a "Demi-God" named Barak who took Glister as his own in Thar and founded an "Empire" of sorts out of orcs, ogres, humans and some Monstrous cohorts...thus was born the party "The Shields of the North" adventuring band. The worthies of that group put a stop to Barak and went on to eventually break up and go for their own goals. The Dwarf of the party refounded Tethyamar, the Drow thief/wizard actually joined the Zhents!, and other things...it was a fun game over all.
I always considered Darkflame to be a good place to vent my ire, and so he slowly evolved into a sort of alter-ego of mine. I considerd him a sort of "Chosen of Shar" before I knew other gods had Chosen besides Mystra...his special gift simply being a Shade.
I have pages and pages of things "he" has written concerning the Forgotten Realms, and even books of spells he has created, magic items he has wrought and other things.
When I'm the DM, I'm usually the sort of DM that thinks like the villain...and Darkflame has been a real help getting me in that mindset.
Now...if you want to know my KIDS favorite character: it would be the Goblin Krutz the "Conqueror" of Clan Wolfjaw! It just cracks them up to no end when their big, hairy faced dad starts talking like a little squeaky-voiced goblin (LE gob/male Ftr2/Ranger2/Rogue2 who hates humans more than elves!). He was the initial badguy in a FR game I ran in Daggerdale...a left over mercenary and his band of goblins bent on plunder and founding a "Graat Gowblin Kangdim" in the lands of Daggerdale. |

Well most likely my very first character. "Pike Silverbow" He started out as a "Elf" in the basic edition then I updated him to a Elf fighter/mage in later editions. Then possibly a Dwarven fighter who was latter(around 17th or 18th level) polymorphed into a human. It was a miss worded wish so he could be tall enough to weild a Hammer of thunderbolts,LOL. I still use him in epic adventures. Hes now 27th level. I think Ive been playing that character since around 1991.. |
I remember playing Dwarves and Elves as a character class... |

My first character, named Vortex. Fighter, first adventure was from the original D&D red basic box set. that was about 1987. No history, no back story, no home village. Just created, played, and caused me to be hooked to D&D for 20 years |

My first character was a rogue/ wizard named Kylaina. Our DM had this whole six degrees of separation thing, so we all had to come up with a story about how we knew each other. His real goal was that we would sort of vouch to the party for each other's characters. Since only one person knew her directly, no one really knew her alignment or temperament.
I think I might have mentioned in another scroll how I might have accidentally put my party to sleep and then tripped and cut their throats.
Although it was bad form, it was in keeping with the character. They eventually forgave me and I was sucked in like the rest of you. |
Anyone who likes to read something that's really dark and gritty and completely awesome ought to read The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You can check out a little taste at www.BrentWeeks.com I should probably warn you, though, that it is definitely not PG-13 :-D
He also started a new Trilogy with Black Prism, which may even surpass the Night Angel Trilogy in its awesomeness.

My favorite character (and the one I have re-created several times, to play in different games) is my first character. Her name is a mix of a Woman Marine's name, and a brainstorm of Krynn's Sturm Brightblade. The first game I played with her was an horrid abberation of 6 DM's rotating through playing and DMing, and most of them utterly focused on achieving new heights of montyhallism. By the time the game ended (with us at maybe 4th level) we had a Kender with an intelligent lightsaber, had faced several Predators, and had been in a fight where 3 ancient wyrm golds had died killing 3 ancient worm reds. That game ended with (basically) a Klingon transporting onto the road the party was travelling on. The archer shot at the klingon, (described as a REALLY ugly orc in strange armor) who then disintegrated the archer with his disruptor. The mage fired off MM, hurt the Klingon, who called for his ship to decloak and fire a torpedo into the group. Save vs Death -60. Thank God.
Brianna Stormblade is a unusually tall woman, standing 6 foot 3. With her red hair cropped short begining to turn grey at her temples, and her face just begining to show the lines of a maturing woman, there is no need to see the scars mostly buried underneath her armor to know that she has led an hard life, full of strife. Her hazel-green eyes hold a haunted desparation born of past horrors she has face, and a steely determination to face whatever horrors her service to Heronious throws at her. At 33 years of age, Brianna still has a muscular body that many yonger women would envy. ON her back, Brianna carries a battered two-handed sword, of an anceint design, that nonetheless gleams in the light. The foot long pummel, covered with simple leather, is black with stained sweat from years of use, and the blade, scarred and pitted tho it appears to be, holds a fine razor sharp edge on both sides. The first 8 inches of the blade incorporates a grip where Brianna can get a better hand hold for close in fighting, using the leverage of her hands being seperated by over a foot of the weapon to allow amazingly fast close in blows, or a good handhold from which to throw her sword, like a small, but very heavy spear. Brianna carries only two secondary melee weapons, a small horseman's mace at her side, and a dagger in her boot. In a case on her back, Brianna also carries a composite short bow, with a small quiver at her side, opposite the mace, and another, larger quiver hangs on the saddle of her mount, Britches, a heavy war-horse of the appoloosa breed. Whether on the back of her horse, or wading about her enemies on the battlefield, Brianna is usually a calm, implacable force as she swings her massive sword. Only when she is fighting the undead does Brianna lose her composure, and then she is a whirling dervish of final death, rending thru decaying corpses with a reckless abandon. Brianna is the last scion of a long established, but poor and very minor, noble house. Her father, before his death when she was a young teenage girl, started her training as a Knight, and it was while she was squiring for another Knight that she was called to serve Heronious as a paladin. During her training, the almost exclusively male squires hounded her as weaker than they, and this, coupled with the knowledge that her only real birthright of any monetary value was an ancient two hander sword, inspired her to learn the ways of that massive blade. Early on, she had much difficulty with mastering the weapon, but eventually, she began to overcome the other squires handily during their practice skirishes. On attaining her majority, and the right to be called a Knight, Brianna was called upon by her God to assist and protect a cleric of another God that had lost his life and nearly his soul when tempted by an evil diety. This cleric, with the last breath of his life, called upon his forsaken God for mercy, and such was granted. Heronious tasked Brianna with helping to redeem this cleric, and it was while adventuring with this cleric that Brianna had an unfortunate series of encounters with a number of ghouls. In a desperate fight, Brianna succombed to the palalyzing touch of a ghoul, and fell. The recovering cleric, was then able to turn the remaining undead, and chase them away. After the fight he was once again tempted by an evil diety, and gave allowed himself to slide back to the ways of evil, by raping the helpless form of his paralized protector. When Brianna recovered from the touch of the ghoul, her rage and righteous vengence at her violation were forstalled, as the he threw down his arms, and begged for mercy and forgiveness. Unwilling to strike down the cleric in cold blood, Brianna felt her only choice was to continue to try and redeem the cleric. This terrifying turn of events happened one more time, and with the second rape, Heronious came to Brianna as a voice in her head, and released her from her quest to redeem the cleric, saying that the other God was washing his hands of his former follower. Realizing that he had been abandoned by the God he had forsaken, the evil cleric tried to murder Brianna in a third fight. Heronious intervened in a minor way, causing the man to slip on the blood of an orc slain by Brianna, and Brianna, realizing what was happening swung her mighty two handed sword at teh cleric, and clove him from shoulder to hip. Brianna has internalized the quest to try and redeem those who have fallen from grace, but is also very wary of them, and she harbors an unbending desire to help the undead find a final peace. This drive for the destruction of undead also encompesses a drive to eliminate those that create undead. Brianna Stormblade, 10th level Human female paladin of Heronious 33 years old, 75 inches tall, 165 pounds, green eyes, and short cropped red hair with grey at the temples. Full Name: Laerrigan Tammanath Birth Name: (unknown) Race: half-elf tiefling Homeland: Calimshan Age: 28 (about 20, developmentally) Height: 5' 11" Weight: 160 lbs Build: lean but not bony, naturally graceful in classic half-elf fashion Hair: brownish-black with a large white patch on the right side Eyes: left is elven green, right is half brown, half blue-white
Class: wizard/warlock/eldritch theurge Alignment: N Stats: Str 13, Dex 19, Con 16, Int 20, Wis 11, Cha 12
Personality: A pragmatist to the core, Laerrigan has both the intelligence and the inclination to remember just about everything he reads, and to argue with anyone who remembers differently. He doesn't understand when some people are irritated by his debates; back home, such discussions were an idle hobby. If he doesn't have information on a given subject, he's rather easy to mislead, as he's chock full of theory and not a whole lot of real-world experience. Or common sense, for that matter. Not only is he likely to be completely taken in by a lie, but he might even see a ruse where there actually is none and he'll proceed on that "insight" no matter what anyone says. He suffers random (and inconsistent) flashes of paranoia. Whatever his company, Laerrigan is likely to view himself as the "adult" of the group, easily rationalizing his own very broad streak of selfish, passive-aggressive immaturity. Everyone has faults.
Hobbies: journaling, holding internal debates over the moral dilemma of whether or not to prevent his halfling companion from baiting that drunk half-orc warrior into combat and/or burning down the inn where the half-orc is staying
History: Born from the forced attentions of a half-drow/half-fiend on an unknown half-elf/half-human woman, Laerrigan was left as a baby on the doorstep of a human wizard with a simple note saying, "I can't continue. Please take care of him." Laerrigan's name comes from that wizard (Tammanath Dalriyan, son of Dalriyan Carranas), as does his training in magic. His upbringing wasn't especially affectionate--Laerrigan was apprentice and servant, not son, and Tammanath sometimes had a wicked sense of humor--but the wizard was a decent enough fellow as crotchety old bachelors went (except for having a nasty sense of humor that more often than not resulted in pain and/or humiliation for his apprentice). The two of them regularly engaged in debates and outright arguments over anything and everything factual.
By the time Laerrigan turned fifteen (perhaps 11 in human terms), Tammanath was old enough and weak enough from illness and age that his young charge became his hands and feet most of the time, doing chores and fetching tomes and materials, cataloguing and record keeping, cooking, running errands (with concealing garments when he had to venture among other people), and so forth.
Right around the time Laerrigan turned 28 (about 20 in human terms), Tammanath finally outlived himself. After waiting a couple days to make sure his teacher really was dead this time (remember Tammanath's so-called sense of humor), Laerrigan buried him and set off on his own to learn more about the world he'd seen only from a distance thus far in life.
Because of Tammanath, Laerrigan is convinced that anyone with both fiend AND drow blood can't possibly be kind or generous or compassionate, and that any inclinations he feels toward these are, to put it crudely, like teats on a bull. But he just can't find it in himself to be outright evil. Not so far, at any rate--chaotic company and the negative results from some of his bumbling attempts at good-doing are slowly pushing him more toward the dark side of his heritage, and he's balancing on a fine edge at the moment with nothing but pragmatism and some murky tatters of emotion to guide him.
(I'm using a slightly altered version of how/why Laerrigan left the tower in my playing of him at the Candlekeep Inn, more in keeping with my story-writing about him than with my tabletop gaming)
Likes: well-organized clutter with everything in its place, making plans and assigning people's parts in them, days when people actually cooperate and things go according to plan for once, petty vengeance, anything new to be poked at and studied, time for serious journaling, good musical performances, those rare moments of rational conversation with his unpredictable halfling friend
Dislikes: being mocked, facing questionable odds, physical contact in general (due more to emotional oversensitivity than actual aloofness), seeing his own darker side emerge in extreme circumstances (he may believe that side of him to be his ultimate nature, but that doesn't mean he likes it)
pictures of Laerrigan and his costume may be seen at www.geocities.com/vermeil_dragon/laerrigan_index.html

I've had a number of favorite characters, but I must say that my most favorite DnD character is one that I'm currently playing in a Drow Campaign.
Name: Davek Dalith'Martel Race: Drow Homeland: Menzoberranzan Age: 61 Height: 5'6" Weight: 165 lbs Build: muscular, but not bulky enough to hamper his speed Hair: Silver Eyes: Jade Green
Personality: A very confident noble, that resists priestesses casual manner of making him subservient. He is calculating like many of his race. He is a stern taskmaster when training his house troops, as he is demanding of himself and those beneath him. He avoids needlessly sacrificing or abusing his subordinates, but sees any sign of mercy as a weakness.
He is a racist, as he sees the Drow race as the pinnacle of mortal form. Goblins and other humanoids are to be used as meat for the grinder of life. Other greater races such as humans, dwarves, and surface elves are only useful if they have skills that can progress his goals.
History: A noble born drow to the 27th house of Menzoberranzan, Dalith'Martel. His house survived an attack from a stronger house by utilizing an ancient crystal artifact that clones those who merge with the crystal. When the clones were killed in the attack, the attacking house thought they were the victors. When the nobles departed the artifact, it named the attackers who were subsequently destroyed by the academy forces.
While in the academy he came to be involved with a group of like minded male nobles from other lesser houses. The group found itself spirtually led by a secretive priest of Vhaeraun, a fellow noble within the academy. He converted us all to Vhaeraun. Over time Davek became a Champion of Vhaeraun (a prestige class based on the Champion of Corellon prestige class).
The group was able to get involved in the creation of an outpost built near the surface. It was supported by Menzoberranzan, as it was to be the new base of operations for the surface raids conducted by the academy. It remains hidden from most surface authorities by using hidden gates to secretly conduct their raids.
Because of their efforts in establishing the outpost, they were granted space within the outpost to build establishments. The goal of the founders was to create a trading center that could support a small city.
With a gate connected to Menzoberranzan itself, the nobles built a gambling hall that catered to the noble students of the academy. Over time, nobles from the houses of Menzo came to visit the establishment, earning it a reputation for being of top quality.
One feature of the game that I enjoy is the high powered nature of the game, but it is mainly based on roleplaying. In the past our games tended to fall apart and wane once we reached around 11th level. We played this campaign up to level 15. It originally started off in 2nd edition, but we've recently converted it to 3rd edition where our characters are 13th level. The best part is that our game has matured over the years, allowing the DM to incorporate a number of techniques he has picked up over the years. We also now have some cash to spend on our hobbie.
One of my recent purchases was a painting of Davek by Storn A. Cook.
It is the second painting I've had commissioned with Storn Cook. I'm saving up now to have the painting framed. =) |
Session Reports posted at RPG Geek. Stem the Tide Takes place in Mistledale. Dark Curtains - Takes place in the Savage North, starting in Nesmé. I wrapped my campaign into the Hoard of the Dragon Queen, but it takes place in 1372 DR. |

I'm at work and cannot post the stats yet, but I'll list two:
My all-time favorite character is
Airicx Evanara
He is a noble moon elf from House Evanara. He is a fighter/rogue/champion of corellon larethian. He fights with two elven thinblades, utilized weapon finesse, improved expertise, etc. With a high dexterity, expertise, and up to 7 non-hasted attacks per round, Airicx is extremely hard to hit, cannot be flanked or caught flat footed, etc. Very powerful in hand-to-hand combat of any kind.
However Airicx doesn't like to confront enemies in hand to hand, and has no qualms of "not fighting fair". He will use his very high hide and move silently to stealth around and sneak attack. Against powerful opponants or spellcasters, Airicx will combine his sneak attack with his wrath of Corellon Larethian ability to deliver massive damage to the unaware wizard.
Airicx was always very prejudice and hateful towards humans after his parents were murdered in Neverwinter. Airicx assumes the murderers were humans but that is not where the hatred comes from, it's because Airicx feels Neverwinter didn't do enough to catch the criminals. he felt that they didn't care as much about a "couple of elves".
I've always had fun playing Airicx. He uses his rogue abilities constantly, but should it come down to a duel being called, Airicx hasn't been bested. He can trade blows with the best of them, as he is insanely hard to strike.

I'm very interested in this new character I made last night.
Rune Shadowstaff
Rune is a Neutral Tethyrian Human Male Rog 5/ Ftr 1/ Mountebank 4 Str: 14/ Dex 18/ Con 14/ Int 14/ Wis 10/ Cha 19 5'10, 178 lbs Brown Hair Hazel Eyes
What's interesting about this character isn't so much his class, but his personality. I have Rune coming from a family that is rich with Sorcery. His father was a strong sorcerer, his grandfather was a sorcerer, etc, etc. Everyone expected Rune to be like those before him. He was named Rune, he bears the family surname of Shadowstaff, but unfortunately for Rune... he didn't have a drop of arcane ability at all. As much as he tried, he could never master even the simplist cantrip. This caused him to be ostracized by his family. He was forced to wander from town to town in the Dalelands as a vagrant. He once was able to gain a job acting as a guard to caravans (hence the fighter level), but was caught stealing food and chased away. Thus he continued his existence as a rogue.
Eventually he met Lord Miritar during the elves campaign to free Myth Drannor and battle the fey'ri. He was discovered stealing food and equipment from their camp. Lord Miritar was impressed by Rune's charisma and his rogue skills that he offered him a job to act as a scout for them against the fey'ri.
It was a job that Rune excelled at, and eventually he was able to create an alter-ego (per Mountebank PC) of Vleyzhen Fireshadow, a fey'ri warrior/sorcerer and walk amongst Sarya Dlardrageth's fey'ri to gather information regarding her forces.
After the war Rune had earned enough coin and reward (including a Ring of Fire Elemental Command from Lord Miritar to aid in his hellish disguise) for his efforts that he was able to leave the Dalelands in search of more opportunity.
Rune has a deep love for magic as well as a strong desire to become a sorcerer so he can feel accepted by the family that he once belonged to. However arcane magic is just something that Rune cannot access. It remains beyond him. To compensate, Rune is gathering together a list of magical items that allow him to "cast spells". He truly loves his Ring of Fire Elemental Command as it makes him feel a bit of a success in regards to sorcery.
A few quick notes" Rune's primary Skills (with adjustments) are:
Use Magic Device +17 (+21 per over 5 ranks in Spellcraft & Knowledge Arcana) Bluff +20 Disguise +18 Intimidate +11 Perform +8 Hide +10 Move Silent +10 Knowledge Arcana +8 Spellcraft +10

My favourite character is an aloof elven warrior named Calahir Dvalndyll I ran in a FR campaign. He was a survivor of Myth Drannor who left the city long ago with Josidiah Starym to recover the missing Soldier's Blade only to be seperated from the group and captured by the Drow.
How he came to wake up on the shores of the Ashaba after having been missing for for nearly 800 years is a mystery.
However parts of his past came flashing back and he ended up returning to the underdark.
Full Name: Calahir Dvalndyll Race: Wood Elf Homeland: Cormanthyr, formerly Myth Drannor Age: 1255 by virtue of a magical imprisonment ritual, actual physical age is 561 Weight: 90lbs Height: 5ft 8ins Build: Muscular yet graceful and precise in his movements (even for an elf) Hair: Red, long Eyes: Bright Green
Class: Ranger (9) of Solonor Thelandira / Fighter (6) / Rogue (7) Alignment: Chaotic Good Stats: Str 16 Dex 20 Con 14 Int 14 Wis 12 Cha 14
Once an up-beat trickster and practical joker who upheld Eltagrim's ideals of racial unity as he always enjoyed the lighter things in life and the diversity that interaction with the other races offered. He was never afraid to stand up for those he cared about and hated bullies and worst of all the racist noble elves of the city. He joined Josidiah Starym's crusade to escape the boredom of Myth Drannor's bubble, he hated the mundane and secure existence that the Mythal offered and craved to explore the lands beyond.
Since his capture in the underdark (moments after recovering the Elfblade from the temple of Lloth in Maerydima) and subsequent escape centuries later, his attitude is little more dour, he is depressed at the fate of his old homeland and the fact he was not able to defend it. He views the modern realms with an eye of cynicism and has little respect for the noble houses of Evermeet who he sees as cowards for leaving the mainland instead of reclaiming the old city. Most of all he hates the Mind Flayer enclave that imprisoned him and tortured him for centuries and dreams of the day he rains bloody vengeance on them and the drow slavers that sold him to them.

I had a first edition monk named Takamatsu, (in honor of the Ninjitsu Grandmaster)he was the first and only monk that I rolled that I was able to get to Grand Master of Flowers. I had about fourteen monks before that and most of them were killed (I had one that I literally just lost. I mean the character sheets and all the info. POOF!) most of them never made it higher than level three, a couple made it to six or seven. Tough class to keep alive, especially at lower levels. Takamatsu was a Greyhawk character which I switched to FR. The most memorable moment was when my best friend decided to try his hand at Dungeonmaster by running the ultra high level module "The Throne of Bloodstone." He actually did okay but I think he was overwhelmed with the powers of high level characters. He was very descriptive and was always trying to give us new and interesting visual pictures. At some point, we were traveling along the bottom of a rocky gorge where Takamatsu lead the way while sneaking and hiding. He came upon a four armed demon that was urinating on some rocks. I was able to sneak behind him and hit him four times for a total of 32-128 h.p of damage. Wow! Very nice! Killed him outright. My buddy was dumbstruck. I prefer playing and Dungeonmastering lower to mid level characters. You have to think more, there's none of this "I fought and killed Demogorgon, Asmodeus, or Gruumsh. (I know they put avatar stats in "Legends and Lore" (aka Deities and Demigods) but that doesn't mean you should be fighting them. (If you do, you really shouldn't be BEATING them!) I've had other high level characters and I had them make cameo apperances in various adventures, but I have to say, they just kind of stay in my old notebook, gathering dust now.

Woorey Yallock gray elf basterd son of some noble guy (forgot) bunch of wiz levels specialised in magic misile and all other force spells
cool thing: multy pesonality syndrome, whitch he projected on his handpuppet Mr. Sockko. somewhere along the campain my DM though it was funny to let me participate in a big magical ritulal that sort of backfired and split the peronalitys and basicly gave Mr. Sockko his own character sheet. then he started leveling as rogue. Fun but difficalt to play.

I must say, that my current char. is the one ill always remenber... He's very divoted to his godess Mystra, whom he has saved from Bane and Cyric. I saved her by protecting a girl she had projected her self into... it took a long time to locate her even with the helt of Elminster, but I got to her before a Bane cult did, and I kept her safe and secret for a long time... until a point where she godt powerful enough to emerge.. right infront of me.. thanking me for my help. SMiling and then disapering... I afterwoulds adopted the little girl as my sister... We have been palying these chars. since 2002, so theres so much memmory and feelings around him and them... My biggest acomplishment has to be when I did the imposible... I summoned Larloch...
If people want my whole char. write me and I will send him by email... |

Full Name: Marshal Victus Carrington Birth Name: Victus Race: Human Homeland: Daggerfalls Age: 48 (1394 DR) Height: 5’10 Weight: 185 lbs…little more in the winter Description: Grizzled, downcast – tattoo of a Shield and Sword in flames on right arm. Missing left eye. Missing one front tooth. Often wears a thick beard with mid-length brown hair, which grows in streaks of gray from his temples. He has hazel eyes.
Class: 13th LV Forrest Runner (Ranger) Alignment: Neutral Good Stats: STR 16, DEX 16, CON 15, INT 14, WIS 19, CHA 12
History: Victus Carrington shares a namesake with almost twenty children living in Daggerfalls, and nearly one hundred men and women abroad who can claim their earliest years were spent in the care of Miss Ritta Carrington, the den mother of the citie's orphanage. Victus's mother died during birth, and he has never known his father. As a child Victus was wild, unrelenting in his need for an adreneline rush. He once jumped from Daggerfalls itself narrowly missing the rocks below all on a dare and perhaps, he has admitted, to impress a young girl. But it was that adventurous spirit and his love for the woods that lead him to join the city guard in hopes one day to ride side by side with his idol, Randal Mourn. It wasn’t until the retaking of Daggerfalls by Randal Mourn and his Freedom Riders that Victus began his military career. In two years he was part of a patrolling unit, and as the months rolled on, formed a new unit called Talon Company. They were woodsmen who patrolled on foot, securing the rough terrain surrounding Daggerfalls before roaming monsters made their way into the lowlands. Showing promise, Victus was lucky enough to be approached by a member of The Hunt, a like minded company who specialized in survival tactics and unarmed combat. This training allowed him to involve Talon Company in special operation missions for Randal Mourn. It was on such a mission, while ambushing several Red Plume guards in the night, Victus was overtaken and captured. Talon Company managed to escape without notice, but Victus was taken to Hillsfar where he was sold into the Gladiatorial games. For five years Victus fought in the games, until after suffering near death injuries, he was thought to be dead and buried in a shallow grave. He survived however, and escaped Hillsfar, vowing to return and make the Red Plumes pay for those years of violence, and the many friends he was forced to kill. After negotiations with a group of calishite traders, Victus returned to the lands of Hillsfar, keeping to the edges of Myth Draynor where he struck out at nearby patrols and military structures alike. They took what they needed and any merchandise of value was given back to nearby communities. This time gave rise to several rumors of a ghost that haunted the woods. It was said he came in the mist, was immune to all manners of weapons and burned his victims with a fiery staff. All of which are depictions of several tactics used by Victus and his company to instill fear in the Red Plumes. Eventually Victus returned to Daggerfalls where he was discharged with honorable mention. Victus took up a post in the Spiderhaunt woods, a place he frequented in his younger years. He had relations with the gnomes there and knew of a cabin beside a small lake called Milishar. Today Victus patrols those roads, tending to the safety of traders and private wagons alike. (As a realms character this is where his story ends. The campaign takes a drastic turn here where Victus becomes Lord of Daggerdale and marries Randal Mourn’s only daughter. However, as a possible NPC I leave Victus in this state for easy use.) Personal Quirks: Victus has a very strong accent, and speaks with a guttural tone. At times his manipulation of the common tongue borders on garble, but it has been said that his meaning is always very clear when he speaks. He is a man of simple needs and never seems to have two coins to rub together. However, he is never without a meal, as most local folk will gladly take him in for the night. He drinks heavily during such times and tells outlandish stories of youth filled days. In the field however, there are few men who take his trade so delicately. In the wild Victus is nearly always concealed and prides himself on being just another animal. He has never had much use for reading, though Ritta did try her best. He is capable of making out his name and some other words, but cannot as a whole, read or write. This is also in part due to his dyslexia and is a continual achilles heel for Victus. He tries his best to hide his inability when confronted with it and will often pretend like he has read the material but will try and coherse others to 'make it simple' or 'get to the point'. Aside from his gruff personality and demeanor, Victus is a caring and compassionate individual who believes every man should live free, and that freedom should be protected at all costs. He abhores tight quarters, though in his youth he learned to subdue his clausterphobia while on board a clunker in the Moon Sea. But the idea of living behind city walls is something the Ranger could never learn to accept. Thus he makes a horrible Lord of any kind and a worst husband, as he often leaves home for long periods of time. This along with his love for adventure and women has often been the cause of failing character and some controversy surrounding Victus.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ranger Empathy with animals - May befriend animals. Followers - Attracts 2d6 followers at 10th level. Hide in shadows 77% - May hide in natural settings. Move silently 94% - May move silently through natural settings. Priest spells - May begin to cast Priest spells at 8th level. Special enemy - Familiar with one type of creature; granted a +4 to attack rolls and a -4 penalty to reaction rolls when encountering this creature. Tracking proficiency - Given the tracking proficiency, and will improve by 1 for every three levels. Two-weapon style - May fight with two weapons with no penalty if wearing studded leather armor or lighter. Major Spheres of Magic - Animal, Plant
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forrest Runner Special Benefits: Stealth: The Forest Runner has a +5% chance to hide in natural surroundings and a +5% chance to move silently. Inspire: Once per day, prior to making an attack, a Forest Runner may spend 2-5 (1d4+1) rounds boosting the morale of his companions with flattering words and expressions of confidence. He can influence a number of companions equal to his level. If the Forest Runner makes a successful Charisma check afterwards, the companions enjoy a +2 bonus to their morale for the next 3-12 (3d4) rounds. Each companion also receives a +1 bonus to his first attack roll. The inspiring speech doesn't affect animals, other Forest Runners, or himself. The Forest Runner can't attempt to inspire his companions in the midst of battle or while they’re occupied in any other activity. Disguise: The Forest Runner can take the Disguise proficiency for one proficiency slot. Reaction Bonus: In his homeland or any region where his reputation precedes him, a Forest Runner can count on food and shelter at no charge for himself and his companions from supportive commoners. A Forest Runner also receives a +1 reaction modifier from peasants of good or neutral alignment of all cultures. Special Hindrances: Forest Runners will rarely develop a close relationship with any NPC with political power. Additionally, a Forest Runner runs a constant risk of arrest by authorities of his homeland, as well as from other regimes with which his homeland has extradition agreements. Law-enforcement authorities may plague a Forest Runner through his entire career.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notable Equipment - Victus wears a suit of leather armor called 'The Armor of the Cormanthor' it has no special abilities but he has owned the armor through most of his career. He was even buried in it. The leather armor sports patchwork leather over years of repair and varries in color and hue. Victus also paints the armor to better blend in with his surroundings. Aside from this, he has fashioned three buckles that hold the armor together at the front. The buckles are made from Mithral arrows he had melted down along with cold-iron steel . Should any question come up regarding the security of the buckles or an attempt to 'magically' unfasten them, the buckles save at a +5. - A holy symbol of Umberlee which allows the wearer to breath under water once per day as per the spell.
- Boots of varried tracks
- Ring of Jumping
- Belt Buckle +1 of Protection
- Scroll tube of holding (Filled with different maps and letters of note. Most of which are of the Dalelands but as well, any area he might have trafersed in his career. He also has a good selection of sea faring maps around the Dragonsea.
- A Spy Glass
- Jultide (Throwing Axe +2): Jultide was a gift from Randal Mourn to Victus for his service to Daggerdale. The axe was made by the Council of the Dales in hopes of achieving a unified peace offering among all the Dales. However the meetings failed to unite the Heartlands under a single governing policy and the Axe found its way into rich noble coffers until eventually it was won in a card game by Randal Mourn. Engraved on the handle are the names of each Lord of their respecting dales. The axe is made of cold-steel and buzz's with magical energy. Upon throwing the axe, it returns to the wielder in a boomerang action. However the character must make a dex check to catch it on return. The axe can also be commanded to glow as per a light spell, and has the ability to be thrown in perfect silence, or be commanded to make a humming noise when thrown.
- +3 Bullet: Around his neck Victus wears a bullet shot from a 'hand cannon' as he describes it. The bullet was taken from the body of the first man to die under his command while at sea.
- Gloves of Swimming and Climbing
- Caradrous: Taken from a Red Plume commander, Caradrous is a +3 Bastard sword magically endowed to allow the wielder to cast Stoneskin 3/day. This is by far the most valuable item Victus has and he always keeps it close to him. Caradrous does not have sentience but has in the past invoked a sense of emotion during battle. Victus says the sword hungers for war, as it was made for the act.
- Satchel of Holding (Up to 50 lbs)
- +1 White Plumed Helm (Roman Style): Victus rarely wears his helm, but when called for, it trusts it will keep what little brains he does have in tact. |

I once played an Githzerai monk. His name was Wanderlei Silva, pretty lame but i'm not good in names. Don't have the sheet anymore but by far he was the strongest of the party. The whole pary was building on him in combat. And that was very fun to play. I think his AC was 54 when using all my devensive feats, his saves where also pretty high. He just don't had any weaknesses. Only his attack wasn't that good.
But he got killed by the DM who could not stand that his monsters weren't able to hit him. |

I have a couple. Joran Nobleheart, whose character sheet is here in my signature, along with some of his story. He was my first ever character, as a matter of fact. Another favorite of mine is a fey'ri bladesinger I play, named Telethian Phoenix. Those of you that played at the Inn here know him well, how he is, and the changes that have come over him through his time in the modern Realms. I'm pressed for time right now, but I'll revisit a little later and give a more thorough history on them. Oh, and another that is more than memorable is my drow character, Darkadius Du'Thrax of Menzoberrazan. |

Sadly, my favorite characters are not mine, but created by my players for games of yore.
One was a halfling woman, a rogue by trade. Unusually tall for a halfling (over four feet in height), she could have passed for a human youth save for the fact that had a mature woman's shape (solved by strapping her bosom down). Her skin was almost Amerind-red, and her hair the shade of spun copper - so she was memorable regardless of what she was trying to accomplish. Needless to say, she was a cat burglar, second-story artist, and accomplished lockpick. Due to her memorable appearance, she never picked any pouches or engaged in public scams where she could be caught in a lie. Her personality was alternating pixie exuberant and sultry black widow - the player was very proud of her character, and I do not blame her a bit.
The other - and it made me wince very hard at first - was a drow warrior by the name of Duromhar (surname was quickly discarded) - and not because it was a drow. During a tug-of-war with his younger brother (a wizard) over a magic belt, Duromhar's strength, combined with the wizard's misfired spell, caused the belt to rupture. Being as it was a Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity, the effects had to go somewhere. The magical blast knocked the wizard back about twenty yards (leaving him with all of two hit points). The magical effects washed over the warrior, performing the alteration before losing power...sort of. Although his new form was doubtless what the belt would have done - an exceedingly exaggerated female form - it failed to actually change his gender. Unless you knew better (and as long as there was still a loose loincloth in the picture), you would swear it was a woman. Shape, voice, walk, everything. The halfling's player was also responsible for this character (which she was then calling 'Dura' - yes I know what the Latin meaning of that word means, and I believe it was deliberate) - she was rather creative. Despite the rather bizarre character, nothing ever went further than you'd expect a normal campaign to produce (unless she played it for laughs, or decided an NPC needed to be taken down a peg or two without actually injuring them). Once I got over my stomach's protest of the idea, it was actually quite humorous, listening to the player describe her character's strutting down the streets of Skullport wearing the equivalent of tight jeans and aviator shades.
Sadly, I can provide stats for neither of them, as they were not mine, but I may include them - at least the drow - as NPCs in a future campaign. |

I've had two favorite characters, Rhune Moonglow, half-elf cleric/mage, and Tibble Lightfoot, a fremlin wizard.
Rhune was someone who could quite literally fall over if you waved a feather at him--very low strength (4) and a not so pleasant constitution--the only thing he could carry without wobbling around like a newborn calf was his spellbook and the pack he kept it in.
Tibble was a blast to play as he was like a drunken Gizmo from Gremlins--he loved to drink and loved to torment people with his pranks and mischief. Tibble got a little too brave facing some slavers, thinking they weren't much of a problem because their weapons couldn't affect him (Fremlins are immune to non-magical weapons.) However, Tibble wasn't immune to the volley of magic missiles that knocked him out of the air. One failed con check, and off he went to the recycling bin. |

If you look at my Forgotten Realms NPC Generator, those are all my creations (my children) who I have fond memories of creating. Even if all they are is bags of HPs to be slaughtered, I've created interesting backstories and histories for them all.
Were I to choose, it'd be hard to narrow down to one so these 3 are probably my all-time favories:
The first is probably my favorite to roleplay as he was just crazy. His character sheet is the first one on the Forgotten Realms NPC generator found here named Ox. RPing this guy was a great time at the table and while annoying at times, provided the others a good source of entertainment.
The second is my 1st character created with D&D named Sir Marcus. A paladin who's spanned 3 editions (started with AD&D and he's still going strong in 4E). Modeled a bit after the perception of myself, he's everything a Paladin should be.

Full Name: Nilus Hector Reynard Race: Human Homeland: Cormyr, The Great Swamp Age: 33 Height: 6'3" Weight: 245 lbs. Hair: Black, short-cropped Eyes: Blue
Class: Priest of Beshaba 15 Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (with leanings towards Neutral Evil) Stats: STR 14, DEX 15, CON 15, INT 16, WIS 17, CON 13
Personality: A humorless man, Nilus takes his devotion to Beshaba with the utmost seriousness. He has been know to kill those who make any unfavorable remarks about his goddess, going so far as to track a merchant from Waterdeep to Luskan just to deal out the punishment for speaking out against the Maid of Misfortune. He has few friends, but those he does have he will defend with all he has. But make no mistake, if Beshaba told him to kill his friends he would do so without hesitation.
Hobbies: Questing for lost items and tomes related to the Beshaban church, Preaching the word of the Maid of Misfortune, travelling through lands he has never seen before (whether they are friendly to him or not).
Likes: Everything to do with the Beshaban faith. Slaying, crippling, or maiming those who have committed wrongs against said faith, Mistledale ales, helping those who he considers to be his friends or worth his time, & working with members of the church of The Doombringer.
Dislikes: Holier-than-thou Tymorans, Cyric & his followers, people of lawful good alignment who feel they "have something to prove", flighty Cormyrian nobles, & flavored wines.
Notable equipment:
- +1 Warhammer, strengthed silver head /w/ Sembian Ironwood shaft. Has the ability to blind a target on a successful hit (yes, its copying Verminaard's mace from the Dragonlance novels. Blame the DM for that.)
- Plate mail +5.
- Large Shield +2.
- Ring of Wyvern Control.
- Circlet of Discord (special item, see below*).
- Cormyrian Royal Charter: Allows Nilus and those belonging to the temple he commands to carry magical items and follow Beshaba openly in Cormyr. Also allows the building of said temple in The Great Swamp region. (Nilus is no fool, he knows he is being allowed to build there because it is out of the way.) This charter is in return for aid that Nilus and the other clergy in his command gave to the Crown.
Mounts:
-Havoc. Heavy War Horse. Chain mail barding. -Lucid. Adult Mottled Wyvern. Bronze platemail barding.
*: The Circlet of Discord is an old relic that was found by Nilus in a semi-collapsed section of Undermountain. It is made of hammered bronze & contains 13 bloodstones. Each bloodstone has the symbol of Beshaba carved into it. The circlet has 2 (known) special powers:
1. The wearer is immune to all curses of any type, along with any fear or charm magics.
2. The circlet radiates an "Aura of Discord, 40' radius". This causes general havoc, turning friends into enemies, causing people to make irrational decisions that can result in their deaths, etc. All those affected by the circlet get a saving throw .vs. Rod/Staff/Wand at a -4. The only persons unaffected by the effects are those who follow Beshaba.
Anyone who touchs the circlet or the box it is contained in, and is not a follwer of Beshaba, suffers 11d4+11 points of cold damage. No saving throw.
(I imagine that the DM who helped create the Circlet of Discord would have revealed more powers over time. But he died in a aircraft accident about 6 months afterwards, so I left it with just the 2 powers he gave it.) |

My fave/most memorable Pc so far has to be a tie between my uber-be-otch Morganna Bloodbane (half-drow/half-Moon elf wizard/ assassin) and her half brother Lothir E'Terrin'dar(drow bard/dervish) They are polar opposites in personality and morals, and they HATE each other! Morg has torched taverns on a whim, slit throats of ordinary folk just because she got annoyed at them, is sadistic, psychotic, has more "daddy" issues than Oedipus, likes to drink stuff that would kill most folks, and consorts with an elder great red wyrm. Yes, you read that right. Lothir, on the other hand, is soft-spoken, kind-hearted, chivalrous toward females, charming, abhors evil and cruelty, and loves wine, women, and music- not necessarily in that order. He is a terrific dancer and musician, with a romantic side that has led to more than a few flirtations. He's also a clever prankster with a sharp wit and great sense of humor, where Morg tends to be entertained by watching people die- slowly.... |

I've got two characters that are my favorites. One is my halfing rogue, Chenna the flying Dragon-piercer, whom I am trying to rework for 3.5 edition.
The other is whom I take my name on here from. Long before I knew of the rest of the books in the Songs and Swords series (having only Elfshadow and Elfsong), I made X'nella Amnestria Moonblade-Thann. At first she was to be born out of wedlock in Tethir and raised by her "uncle" Foxfire until she meets her father (they know of each other, but only her father doesn't know the relationship they have).
Later (contrary to what is in the Evermeet novel), I had her born in Waterdeep and brought up knowing everything of her heritage and even visiting Evermeet and Tethir from time to time. She is an accomplished wizardess (trained by Khelben), bard (attended New Olamn), an aristocrat with the money to boot (born into a merchant noble family--guess which one?), and the connections of a rogue thanks to an "uncle" who owns nearly half of Waterdeep's illegal trade. I'm still trying to stat her out, even though I've had the concept for her for nearly a half-dozen years or longer. Guess 'cause that's only recently that I got the 3.5 edition sourceboooks, except PH 3.5, from a used-book store. A friend gave me a copy of the pdf file he had of that one. |

Full Name: Ampurien Orandel Birth Name: Ampurien Orandel Race: Human Homeland: Westgate Age: 27 Height: 6'3" Weight: 210 lbs Build: Gangly Hair: Average length blond/brown with random pieces sticking straight out. Eyes: Blue with electric arcs flowing through the pupil
Class: Wild Mage Alignment: Chaotic Good Stats: STR 14, DEX 17, CON 16, INT 19, WIS 12, CHA 12 Patron Deity: Mystra
Personality: Amp loves to be spontaneous, and has a great affinity for casting Nahal's Reckless Dweomer at wildly inappropriate times, although always with the best of intentions. He was afflicted with a curse during the Time of Troubles and leaves a different footprint after every sunrise. Whenever he comes near conductive metals, he arcs lightning between his body and the offending object. Because of this, Amp is not a fan of drinking from metal steins. Surprisingly, he has a natural resistance to electricity, and can never be struck by lightning of any kind. This does not bode well for his fellow adventurers as they are usually the unintended recipients of electric attacks cast at him. He believes he is a Chosen of Mystra (he is not) as he mistakenly believes his electric discharges to be transformed Spellfire.

I love this. It would make for a good comic moment in a game, I wish myself or one of the people I game (or gamed) with had thought of something like this.
Nice touch to the character! |
