It's better to just play it by ear. Sometimes you meet new people and a pickup game with them sounds like more fun than whatever you had planned. Sometimes scheduled games get canceled (or just end up lacking in some way, so you leave). I've never left Gen Con feeling like I didn't do enough.

Aug 14th I will be going to the midnight showing of Star Wars: Clone Wars. It is not nearly as cool as being able to go to GenCon, but I will have to be content with it.

Heh. I've actually planned to do the same. Since I'm no longer going to Gen Con [lousy software legality issues], I thought I'd find some way to treat myself to something special. Fortunately, Star Wars is there!

Just heard from Paizo that copies of Worlds of Their Own will be available at the show. And, yes, we will have a group signing at the Paizo booth on Saturday afternoon, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Participants should include Ed Greenwood, Michael Stackpole, Paul Kemp, Greg Stolze, and me. Author Bob Salvatore will be at the show, too, but couldn't be part of the booth signing, but if you pick up a copy you could get him to sign it at one of his other scheduled signings.

Cheers,

With everyone traveling to my state here shortly, I would like to make sure and know if we have indeed set in stone a meet up time(s) and location(s) of the 'keep members?

I was going to bring this up but not till Monday. However, since you alrdy did.

I'm still planning on heading to the Hyatt on the morns of Sat and Sunday. Beyond that, not sure. I'll probably stick around the hotel sign for a half hr or so before heading into the Con Center.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I dunno. Morning. :)

Grin. Probably, I was thinking, somewhere between 8AM and 10AM so we can figure out who is going where, etc. Let's say 9AM then?

However, I got your cell as well as the # from another poster, just in case we can't find that poster.

I just got reminded that the Writers' Symposium (for which I'm going to be toiling on Thursday/Friday) seminars are in the Marriott right across from the con center. That'll make it far easier to find folks (and for them to find us).

Now to get everything done that needs doing before Gen Con in the next 4 nights....sigh....

See you folks down there in Indianapolis Wednesday night!

Because I am unsure if I will be able to be at the appointed meeting place due to travel and such I will be wearing a name tag with Wandering_mage, Candlekeep Scribe on it. I want to make a T-shirt of this if I can before GENCON. I am so excited at the prospect of shaking hands with any scribe I meet. You all really make this forum a worthwhile tool to delve into the most fantastic campaign setting Dungeons & Dragons has to offer! **Notice my use of the ampersand**

I'll try to find you but a name tag will make it harder then a t-shirt since there's 10k+ people at Gencon. :) Uh..... here's a idea, since I seem to be collecting them. Maybe drop me a PM with your cell #, if you have one.....

I'll see you guys outside of the Hyatt at 9am on Saturday (if not sooner!). I'll be the short guy with the long goatee pointing the video camera at you. If you guys are up for it, I want to collect as many Candlekeep signatures as I can in my personal copy of the Grand History.

Although I don't swing the 'straight' path of life...is there any harm in harboring her bounties?

Here's an idea... Ask the Lady K herself that question when you see her. You'll likely be somewhat surprised by the answer!

I will try to make it by then if not sooner( I would be happy to sign for you if you will sign my new journal I got for FR author types only!), with work and Prior Sunday Commitment to take my daughter to the season ticket holder preview of Lucas Oil Stadium, looks like Sat may be the only day I get to be at the Con.

I know I'm going to Secrets of FR and Spin, anything else Saturday that is a can't miss?

Don't feel left out Red, it's my only day too :P

So, I'm taking a horde of money and I plan on having a time I deserve.

:D

So, it appears to be around five or six of us at this time for infront of the Hyatt?

So where are you guys? I've only managed to catch one or two of the Candlekeepers who visit here occasionally so far, (ps . . . I finally met the Lady Kazandra-The Sage is a very lucky man ) but I haven't seen any of the others.

We met up at the Hyatt sign at 9am and we found all but you and Lady K it seems. But it was me, Knight, Walker, Brian & his wife, Neri, and my ma.

I'm still lookin for Lady K but I'm back at my hotel for most of the night, which is the Hilton on West Market Street, if anyone wants to drop by. Floors 11 and 14, both rooms 20. If no one answers after 5pm, then I'm probably down in the seafood restaurant in the lobby or out, for a half hr, at 7, on the horse carriages. The Hilton is about 3ish blocks away from the con, down near the government building with the large state out front if you pass the hyatt on your right and the westin on your left, just keep walking straight ahead then it'll be on the right.

Peers at Sage, where is your wife!

Edit: Hey guys, lets try to do one more meeting on Sunday, if you are still around morrow, at 10AM at authors alley since Steven has a signing there.

It was nice to get to meet all of you!!!

Sorry to say I never had the fortune to gaze upon the Lady K though

Was lucky enough to share The Secrets of The Forgotten Realms with you all as well, and especially nice to sit by and chat with KnightErrantJR, since his reduced forum presence.

You are all great people!! And was very cool to have an author like Brian want signatures of his readers!
