There is something that I believe has always been needed when it came to pen and paper games. A library of how all of everything is pronounced. The problem I have is that I totally suck at pronunciation, so when it comes to words that have only ever been written down, I'm sure I pronounce them completely wrong. In my gaming group, we're all about equally lazy, so once a pronunciation has been uttered, it catches on and becomes the standard. I'm sure this happens in many gaming groups, and then when we meet at a convention or a store, a "war of words" erupts. =)

I hate to be this lame, but has any linguists been interested in creating such a library? =)

Stem the Tide Takes place in Mistledale.
Dark Curtains - Takes place in the Savage North, starting in Nesmé. I wrapped my campaign into the Hoard of the Dragon Queen, but it takes place in 1372 DR.

Well, we could say there are four groups
-- English vocabulary words more common in D&D/Forgotten Realms than everyday speech
-- D&D, non-Realms words
-- Realms words pronounced regularly (most of them)
-- Realms words pronounced irregularly

For the third, I did recently whip up a guide to the sound values of vowels and vowel combinations. I thought I'd jotted down something on stress patterns but can't find it. For the second, wizards.com once hosted MP3 files of Planescape words.
