I have another question about the lore and areas of Fearun.
*Clears throat* Alright, are there any Schools of Wizardy in Fearun? I only know of one official school and thats the one in Silverymoon. So my main question is... are there any more and if so were are they located?

Well the Drow have thier Academies in most , if not all, underdark cities.
There are basically two ways to learn arcane magic, go to school or serve as an assistant and learn that way. There are many schools of Wizardy, some however might not be public knowlegde. I will allow a text scanned of lore to provide other public or private schools that exist. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." A partial listing of the more popular cities that contain mageguilds/schools [that I've been preparing for another project]:-
Waterdeep Almravien Calimport Volothamp Keltar Memnon Silverymoon Cimbar Raven's Bluff Suzail Neverwinter Mulmaster Lyrabar Deepearth Keczulla Murann Messemprar Daggerford Taltemplar Everaska Menzoberranzan Arabel Westgate Luskan
You can find most of the details regarding these schools and guilds in the regional sourcebooks that deal with each of the cities in question -- either in 2e or 3e.

Cyclopedia of the Realms:quote: though universities and magical schools are on the rise, the majority of spell-casters learn their skills in the time-honored fashion; by apprenticeship to a higher-level mage.
The universities and schools of magic . . . are this simple procedure written large, are a novel thing in the North, becoming popular only in the past ten winters [as of 1357 DR], though they are more common (and, it is added, more expensive) in the South.

The Waterdeep ones are mentioned in City of Splendors: Waterdeep. I'd give a page number, but the book is in storage. |
