I have bought the book Champions of Ruin, and enjoyed it immensely. I have heard of its holy counterpart, Champions of Valor, and though I have a general idea of what it is about, perhaps you folks could enlighten me on the book to help me make an informed decision. Thank you!

I found them to be of average quality. For Champions of Ruin, Lords of Darkness was a much better book on baddies. CoV was not much use. |
When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight. |

They are the only 3.x FR books I don't own a copy. |

And I loved Champions of Valour. Found it immensely helpful, and really enjoyed the depiction of the many good groups. The Substitution levels are very interesting, PrC's, feats and spells likewise, and I even like the artwork. |

I agree with Uzzy completely. I thought both CoR and CoV were excellent tomes. In addition, I liked the inclusion of the goliaths and avariels from the "Races of..." series.
Avariels have been in the Realms since at least 2E -- long before the "Races of" books. |
