I announced this on my blog here:http://paulskemp.livejournal.com/. But I do not know if Wandering Mage gets by there much.
Anyway, with Shadowstorm on the release horizon, the time was right to announce the winners of the January contest to name Abelar and Regg's mounts. Both men are holy warriors (paladins) in service to Lathander.
I ended up choosing "Swiftdawn" (for Abelar's mount) and "Firstlight" (for Regg's mount), and the latter was submitted by Wandering Mage. Actually, it appears WM submitted both names, though the other winner submitted "Swiftdawn" first.
Both of the submitted names resonated strongly with me. I thought they suggested speed, power, and light/hope, all of which fit with both Lathander as a God, and Abelar and Regg as his servants(none of this to say that the horses play some pivotal role in the book, but Regg and Abelar are on screen quite a bit, and thus, so too are Swiftdawn and Firstlight).
Anyway, thought you'd want to know, WM.
