I used some time to cheek out Sean K Reynold's Home Page, and read all the great weapons he had made, and decided to try to make a weapon. After several hours, and many cops of coffee I realized that I were almost done. But there was a little problem, I couldn’t find out how much it would cost.

1: Is it to low if a weapon with the ability to make the wielder immune to normal and magical cold would count as a +4 bonus?
2: The weapons ability to affect those it hit n battle with chill metal as a +1bonus?
3: How much would the weapon cost GP and Xp.

Frost Bringer a battleaxe of Auril's faith

Frost bringer is +2 frost Outsider/Fire-bane battleaxe of light grey steel with a wavy snowflake texture.

Frost bringer is a self-identifying item and was once a simple masterwork weapon carried by a young warrior of Aruil. After several successful battles against fire giant’s in the Storm horns, the warrior returned to the temple and was rewarded and become a priest of Aruil. The weapon got enchanted by the high priest and got the +1 for enhancement and the frost ability. He travelled back to the Storm Horns and was never seen again.

Twenty five years after his disappears an adventuring human mage sold this weapon to the church of Auril , where it was given then Outsider/Fire-bane property and its second enhancement bonus. Some years after the high priest become sick and realised that he would soon die of old age. He decided to enchant the weapon further. Under an ritual with several different kinds of offerings to the Ice Maiden, the weapon got the ability to make the wielder immune to normal and magical cold, and the weapon got the ability to cast chill metal on those it hit n battle.

Caster Level: 12th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Energy immunity, Summon monster Chill metal ore Ice storm; Market Price: ? Gp;

Cost to Create: ? Gp. +? XP.
This +2 frost Outsider/Fire-bane Battelaxe is made Pricing: +1 for enhancement, +1 for frost, +1 for Outsider/Fire-bane =+3=18,000.
I think, I am going to price the immunity to normal and magical cold as a +4 bonus, and the chill metal ability as a +1 bonus.

Self-identifying is free.

Total magic price is
Half of that is the cost to create, or
1/25 the magic price is the XP cost, or
Add in the 310 Gp for a masterwork Battleaxe and you get the final costs.

My advice is to first reade through the rules in the DMG for creating magic items. Then go back and see how that compares to Sean's rather detailed explanations on pricing. Be sure to choose some of the later weapons, as I think the earlier weapons were 3E and not 3.5E.

That said, a +4 for immunity to cold is probably too high, but it should probably be priced out as a non-associated ability for a flat gp cost because it doesn't enhance the weapon's actual combat performance and not be priced out as a + to the weapon. You should compare it to another magic item that applies resistance to energy (see armors for example) or immunity to energy in the DMG. On the other hand, +1 for chill metal might be a bit low if it happens with every hit. Compare it to the frost quality.

(FYI, its Auril not Aruil)
