I'm going to play a Paladin of Nobanion in the new campaign of our play group. That's why I want to know where I can get more infos about this god.

I have readed yet:
- Faiths and Pantheons
- Champions of Valor
- The Vilhon Reach

I'm going to play a typic paladin, riding on a dire lion. Not too feral. Maybe this isn't usual for this demigod, I don't know. What I really liked about him is the thing with the lions and the royalty.

This doesn't work for your character, but might work for a NPC or a PC friend if you can find one with your shared interest.

A wizard worshipper of Nobanion who has the Spell Thematics feat with the lion thematic. Great Shout that covers your face with that of a roaring lion. The Fly spell showing you being carried by a translucent winged lion (a form of Nobanion if I remember right).

If you have a creative DM, you might try to come up with a Divine feet with the same options but that might be harder than it looks.

Get a copy of the 2E book Powers & Pantheons. It contains a wealth of info on Nobanion.

This may sound obvious, but you might be able to get some information simply by searching the Net.

"Instead of asking why we sleep, it might make sense to ask why we wake. Perchance we live to dream. From that perspective, the sea of troubles we navigate in the workaday world might be the price we pay for admission to another night in the world of dreams."

There's also a little on Nobanion in the Vilhon Reach supplement. 'Tis available at WotC as a free PDF download.

There is some insight into Nobanion in the Ed's Answers that Kuje compiled, from a couple years back, in the same answer about Lurue.

Since the magic comes from Nobanion, I'm not sure it's neccesary to require a feat in order to give it a flavor or style complemetary of Nobanion. I feel every priest's spells should represent the nature of thier god. I feel STRONGLY that Spell Thematics is a waste of a feat slot. This is more of a role-playing issue than a rules issue. I see no reason to waste a feat slot on customizing the appearance of your spells as long as the change in appearance and effect doesn't change the way the spell works.
Another possible idea for a Paladin of Nobanion is that perhaps they summon a Celestial Lion animal companion rather than a mount. It occurs to me this would be especialy usefull to a Wemic Paladin of Nobanion, since Wemic's really have no use for a mount.
Perhaps when the Paladin uses Smite Evil he is briefly surrounded by the image of a roaring Lion.
Relics created by the clergy could include bladed "Claw" glove weapons, armor and shields with lion motifs and of course Figurines of Wonderous Power that summon large cats.
Just a few ideas based on my knowledge and impression of Nobanion.

As a long time FR DM, I've got to agree with you on this subject Korginard. I've always let my spell casters describe their spells as they wish - so Druankrea, a dwarven sorcerer in my game has a magic missile spell that looks like dwarven hammers launching towards the victim. Meanwhile, our palidan of Sune must gently kiss the wounded person to use her lay on hands ability.

But, Spell Thematics does more than just chance how the spell looks - it also adds a penality (of 2 IIRC) to opponents spelcraft checks to recognize the spell. In my games, the spells can be described however you want - but if you want the +2 modifyier, you've gotta take the feat.

That's an intesting point and one I've never had to consider. Whle I've had several centaur, wemic and other quadraped characters, non have been plaidans. What do other DM's do for a palidan whose his own mount?

Can anyone remind me where the information on the city of cats can be found. I think it's somewhere near the Gulthmere Forest and is a city devoted to both Nobanion and Sharess. Thanks.

See the 2e Vilhon Reach tome for the Nathlekh reference... as well as the 3e Shining South sourcebook (there's only a one sentence reference in there as I recall though). Also, see Nobanion's entry in the 2e Powers and Pantheons deity book for more on the city.
