There's little in the novels with exception of a couple of the Drizzt books. Sorry, but I cant remember which. The gaming products have more. Volo's guide to the North, The North box, The Savage Frontier, all for 2ed. The Silver Marches for 3ed. All of these have information on the city. I think most of those 2ed. books can be found freely downloadable from Wizards page. Link Wooly?

One of the Starlight and Shadows books (I think Tangled Webs) involves Luskan, although I wouldn't say it covers Luskan. Also, a few of the Drizzt books feature this area as well--especially Spine of the World.

You're always so helpful. Anyway, I believe the Salvatore novel, Spine of the World had a bit of Luskan in it.

When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.

Correct, you should read The Spine of the World.

Rinonalyrna is also correct about the Starlight and Shadows book. Although it does not really cover Luskan itself it does give the reader a introduction to the politics of the city and the somewhat evil nature of many of its leaders. Also the Starlight and Shadows books are a very good read in itself.

Was it Tangled Webs only? I thought there were some scenes in Wind Walker (also of Starlight and Shadows) that dealt with Luskan...

Possibly...but to tell the truth I don't remember. I know Waterdeep was featured in Windwalker, but I'm not so sure about Luskan.

You should take a look at Volo's guide to the North. It has a very detailed map of luskan IIRC.
