Or eating food in general...
I'd like to present my players with a restaurant style menu with meals and drinks etc. Is there a comprehensive list of that stuff?
Or could any of you post meals and specialties for the Silver Marches and Waterdeep regions here?
I'm really tired of basically serving the characters stew

There are several dishes, parts of menus and "drink-lists" spread out through Volo's Guide to Waterdeep and Volo's Guide to the North. I think I have seen a collected list of these somewhere, but I cant remember if it was here at Candlekeep or not. |

George Krashos has a compiled list of drinks here. It has been posted on a couple of threads already. I'll see if I can dig it up again. ~Kes
Edit: George's list is in The Traveler's Notebook section, under Various Unofficial Lore here at the 'Keep. I'm working on a list for the Silver Marches area, but it's not close to finished yet. |
Ack! I seem to have too much blood in my coffee stream!

Volo's Guide to Waterdeep has a complete menu. 'Tis on page 113, in the entry for The Inn of the Dripping Dagger. There's also a floor plan of the place. |

And "The Adventures of Volo: Dragonwing Stew" in Dragon #277, and the usual big scattering in novels and sourcebooks -- compiling all food information would be a major project. |

Also you might want to check out Port to Ravens Bluff. there are at least two menues included, the first on p. 16 for the tavern 'Princess Cardella & Seaside Salvage Company' (mostly serving fish) and thereafter a very detailed one on p. 58/60 for 'Sharkey's Bar & Grill'.
Also you will find similarl ones in Gateway to Ravens Bluff on p. 33 for 'The Happy Stein' and on p. 35 for 'The Shod Tallon'. |

The novels are always one of the best "sources" for finding both different foods and beverages served in places across the Realms -- as they provide a sampling of areas that might not otherwise specifically feature in sourcebooks.
Elaine's novels always have an intriguing selection of foods referenced (I recall an odd few being mentioned specifically in tavern scenes during those novels dealing with Waterdeep [like Elfshadow]). Ed's and Elaine's CoS novel is also another worthy source.
And there's always an unusual assortment of beverages referenced. One of my current favorites, is "Krogynth" -- from Master of Chains. As it is described:- "It is a type of moonshine made from a fermented green mold. Krogynth is hard to make and even harder to come by if you don't know the recipe. The liquid smells vaguely like licorice root. It has a rather abrasive flavor... tasting like currants mixed with earwax."
