According to the Roll Call of Dragons, he was "Slain in assault on Cult stronghold by pirates and ixitichitl". For more info, the sources listed are "Pirates of the Fallen Stars 67, Sea of Fallen Stars 13, Queen of the Depths"

I would trust in the info of the Roll Call. The Dragon is mentionend in PotFS and SoFS. What is not mentioned in those two books is his death. So that leaves only one source to tell that tale: 'Queen of the Depth'.

BTW, his name is spelled ESHCAZ.

Hmm, I've read Queen of the Depths, but don't recall the exact circumstances of this dragon's death. Sorry.
