Next time I am playing with my friends I will give them a riddle; They have 5 min to find out what it means.
I just want to know if it’s possible to find out the answer, if you only have 5 Minutes? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Background for the riddle
The group is investigating the history of Old axe, a ruined city in Thunder peaks (Storm Horns).
Until now two of the members have to find a noble son (adventure) from Cromyr that disappeared down under Old axe 5 years ago.
Rumours say that there is a forgotten dwarf city, deep below the old mine city. The dwarf in the group has confirmed this, and they now know that it’s called the halls of hammers and picks. The history says that they fled the place, because they were attacked by something big and inhuman. Ten years after the attack, the Dwarfs came back and closed the halls.
The history says that about eight hundred and twenty five years after the fall of halls of hammers and picks, the first humans gathered, and created the mine city known as Old Axe on the surface.
Old Axe was later destroyed by orck´s. (Gnome history calls this The Return of Tzhazus)
The only building still standing in the ruined city is a temple to Deneir (Lord of All Glyphs and Images / The Scribe of Oghma ). Here they will find Maps and information about the Attack of Old Axe (Strange), and the destruction of the halls of hammers and picks. They will find out that the gnomes and Halflings refer to this event as The Awakening of Tzhazus. They will also find maps of the city as it were along time ago, including maps of the mines outside the city, leading down to the halls of hammers and picks. Thy will also find an old scroll case referring to a long dead old sage that used divination magic, to find out what inhuman creature attacked the halls (here is the riddle).
Later they will investigate the halls, and they will find the main entrance to the halls, and after a fight with some monsters, they will find the town hall.
The town hall is a large cave with many statues of dwarfs and a throne where an old dwarf skeleton is sitting in his dwarf amour. Down the stairs in front of the throne is a big pentagram (knowledge arcane) ore (spell craft) revels that it is a summoning pentagram.
An 9 feet tall angel is lying in the pentagram with white feather and golden skin; it is wounded and looks at the adventures.
It’s speaks with a deep and commanding voice and tells them that it has been imprisoned down here a long time, and was summoned here to fight Xintuz the Balor also know as the lord of the burning fields, and before it had a chance to draw its weapons it was trapped in this pentagram. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The riddle
Deep down under the peaks Where nobody knows Lives a creature, with feathers, white as snow
The creature is blind, and under my control Trust it as you trust yourself But be aware that something isn’t shown
1.6.8.14 – 14.13.9.21.14 – 14.15.2 – 44.13.2.19.14.9.13.2
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Pleas don’t post the answer.

Ok, 5 minutes ticked by. I figured out what the numbers mean, but other than that, I'm stumped at the overall riddle. How does it fit into the campaign? Does a wise-but-cryptic sage tell them that or do they find it written in a tome or inscribed into a boulder somewhere?
Good riddle, although I'd suggest giving them a little more time unless time is really a major part of the campaign. |

should the last set of numbers have a 19 instead of an 18. Maybe I am just counting wrong.
Hmmm... I agree, having a context to put the riddle in would help, because five minutes ticked by for me also. Who wrote it? (The creature is under whose control? for example) |
"Behold the work of the old... let your heritage not be lost but bequeath it as a memory, treasure and blessing... Gather the lost and the hidden and preserve it for thy children."

The number thing I figured. But since I'm really bad at riddles the rest doesn't really mean much. If I understood correctly, that the purpose of the riddle is to find out what the creature is? |
And like marked pages in a diary Everything seemed clean that is unstained The incoherent talk of ordinary days Why should we really need to live

Maybe they are better at Riddles in Denmark than we are here, but I couldn't think of how I would answer that, or even theorize what the numbers meant... |

Yes, context please?
Other than that, this isn't the kind of riddle I'd want to be stuck having to solve, especially not with a seemingly arbitrary time limit. |
"Instead of asking why we sleep, it might make sense to ask why we wake. Perchance we live to dream. From that perspective, the sea of troubles we navigate in the workaday world might be the price we pay for admission to another night in the world of dreams." --Richard Greene (letter to Time) |

WalkerNinja We are as good as any others at riddles.
Yes it’s 19 thanks Mkhaiwati.
I made the back ground maybe its easier then?
I made the riddle.
Tzhazus is a nobel Efreeti ----------------------------------------------------------------
Okay I am a little shocked about haw hard this riddle is, maybe it’s just me how thinks it is easy because I made it.
Now when you got the background for the riddle, inset it a little bit easier?
But yes you have to find out what then numbers mean, and when you have done that… You will see a warning

This riddle is easy to solve in 3 steps: 1.Grab a Cellphone (with inter-planar Sattelite) 2.Digit the numbers shown and press the button with the green telephone 3.Speak to the Noble Efreeti (yes this one knows common) and ask him gently (Diplomacy check required)

Seriously now i love the idea linking riddles with backgrounds, but i couldnt understand this one, the numbers tricked me for good. i think its a bit hard for a 5min riddle |
