anyone tried to play a full campaign underwater with native waterbeathing intellectuel races?
is there any solid lore for what aquatic elf or mermaid cities there is below the waves and how they act together? if yes where can i find them?,,,
would it be logical to place a forgotten portal (that need a command word) deep into Sea of Falling Stars that leads to somewhere around the aquatic elf village just outsite Waterdeep in a old abandoned cave?
where can i find a bunch of 'good' monsters for running around below sea? ... only have Monster I atm.

Both the 2e Sea of Fallen Stars and Pirates of the Fallen Stars tomes provide a selection of lore tidbits on underwater cities tied to specific races, as well as their interactions and relationships with other underwater cities and the surface world.

I´d recomend the 2E supplement Sea of Fallen Stars. It covers some aspects you´re looking for. For more on Monsters etc., there´s also an older adventure trilogy: Evil Tide, Night of the Shark and Sea of Blood, which features many Sahuagin and a lot of other nasty critters. Finally, for Sahuagin, I believe there was a supplement called The Sea Devils(wasn´t there?). There are also several Dungeon Magazine adventures underseas with bits and pieces of lore in them, but I´ll have to get hold of my issues and get back to you. Lastly, Mel Odom´s Threat from the Sea trilogy of novels features some lore you might find useful for such a campaign. |

In addition, the Wyrmskull Throne adventure module, provides an additional selection of intriguing bits, pieces, and lore you may find potentially useful for underwater campaigns. It also presents several monsters you may want to drop into your campaign.

For Naramyr -- Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark and Sea of Fallen Stars.
For Selu'Maraar -- Sea of Fallen Stars.

Yes the seadevils was a great book by Skip Williams a very in-depth look at the sahuagin. And as stated threat from the sea trilogy is a good resource as well. |

Yes indeed - I have played such a campaign. the group was 'polymorphed' into sahuagin themselves and ordered to steel a precious art object out of the kings treasure vault. However, to cut a long story short: As guidance and idea pools I used the adventure modules mentioned above (Evil Tide, Night of the Shark and Sea of Blood), as well as the Slayer's guide to Sahuagin (by Mongoose Publishing) and Stormwrack which is very useful with several adventures included. |

So polymorphing into Sahuagin seems like quite a common occurrence as I've done that as well. But then that is the only way to deal with them.

I ran a campaign in Seros (Sea of Fallen Stars) using the SoFS supplement. It was a lot of fun, though I deeply house-ruled the Dukars to bring them closer to their Jedi roots. Combat was also really interesting since there was practically no armor and I used the flying maneuverability rules. It certainly made my players think outside the box. |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

I like that idea. Suddenly had the image of a Hong Kong fantasy/martial arts film but set underwater with shalarin, morkoth, etc.
