I am trying to come up with a character for a game and I was wondering if there were any known Tyr faith related phrases, credos, words, prayers, or sayings? If there are i would love to know and please also tell what the phrase is. Thanx very much!

Soldiers fight, thieves steal, bards sing, wizards cast, sages think, assassins kill. Good or Evil we all have a job. So tell me this. What the hell are nobles and merchants for?

Piergeiron has uttered a few specific Tyrran-based religious phrased on occasion -- one of the more recent examples being in Ed and Elaine's CoS. As well, Tarl Desanea from the Pools books mentions a few in passing. The "Tyr" entry in Faiths & Avatars also references a religious incantation novice Tyrrans must speak.

And this from The Yellow Slik -- "Tyr's truth" -- regarding "justice being strong and true."

Justice is incidental to law and order.

"The river bends because it had no choice but to follow the lay of the land, where the law of gravity directed it. And so, our path in life is guided by the great laws given to us by Tyr.

How about "Sweet Fancy Moses!!!"

When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.

Shadowbred features a Tyrran ritual and there is a kind of call and answer as the High Priest enters the chamber.

FWIW, it goes like this:

Call by HP: "The Justicar’s eyes are upon this Council. Let none speak falsely.”

Answer, with upraised fist, to remind all of Tyr's severed hand: “For truth is the tool of the just.”

Not sure if I garnered any of these from canon sources but currently playing a rather zealous human paladin of Tyr.

On charging into battle on his horse he orders "Submit and be judged". If the offenders turn to fight well then they're in a world of hurt

Anyone else thinking of any lines from Judge Dread? "I AM THE LAW!"

Okay, goes away now.

Anyhow, I also dimly recall one like, "By the hammer of Tyr."

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

"By the Hammer of Tyr" reminds me of a few Tyrran phrases you hear through the BG games.

I also seem to recall the "Justice shall be swift and final" from the Tyrran clerics in BGII:ToB.

In All Shadows Fled (p. 82) a prayer to Tyr begins 'Hear us, O Great Balance, as we hear thee! From our knees we cry to thee'.

Okay i know it´s a littel to much. bla bla bla... but here it is.

Glory be to you almighty lord of justice.

In you, Lord, I put my trust: may I never be put to shame.
In your justice, set me free,
Turn your ear to me,
make haste to rescue me.
Be my rampart, my fortification;
keep me safe.
For you are my strength and my refuge:
I know you will help me – for you are my strength.
Into your hands I commend my spirit:
you have redeemed me, Lord God of justice.

Let us pray.
Almighty lord of justice, you lay a gentle yoke upon those who follow you. Meek and humble, you give them a light burden to carry. Receive the work and the prayers we have offered to you today; and give us rest, to make us more eager to serve you, who live and reign for ever and ever.
