There's no such beast, at least not as an independently published book. Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II references the computer game.
The manual for the original Baldur's Gate game does include a section entitled "Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate", but it's not a Volo's Guide like the published ones. I've got a pdf of the manual that I found online, and I can say it's not really worth bothering to find. It's more of an intro to the Realms than anything else; specifically focusing on the areas in the game. |

There's a section in the old Forgotten Realms Adventures hardcover, very early in the book, that covers knightly codes. Perhaps this is what you're thinking of? |

It's also in the 1e/2e campaign box sets. :) |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

As Wooly said, there is no Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate I.
If you're looking for just lore on Baldur's Gate and the surrounding regions published before the release of VGtBGII, try Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast.

5 No, there is no indication that Liriel Baenre is a Chosen and clearly would not now be a Chosen of Lolth |

I think you may be confusing Liriel Baenre with Quenethel (sp?) Baenre. I don't think Quenethel is a chosen, per se, but by the end of the War of the Spider Queen she was definitely...something. It's been a while since I read the series, and to be honest I didn't enjoy the ending as much as I could have, and my books are at home so I can't verify it. I'll stop there to avoid any spoilers. |

I already answered the Liriel question the other day. :) Yes, she may be a Chosen, or is she? We don't know for sure. |

Indeed. We do often wander astray, but we often do get back on track on our own. It's not necessary to be impolite to each other about it. |

4) True, you read a rumor, however no canon I know indicates the rumor is correct. This not prevent any deity from having a Chosen and the deffinition of what is Chosen appears to be many. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...?
