I vote for Yasraena because she (he) is the only member that I know of with a custom avatar.

That is a custom avatar, isn't it?

I predict this is going down the same road as the "Whos the coolest member" scroll. But anyways......

I'd have to say zemd. I like that one for some reason. Mabey it reminds me of someone.

My vote goes to Avaly. Something about that one that just gets my blood circulating!

Branmakmuffin: Yes, it is a custom avatar. I created it from my only color portrait of Yasraena.

Salius Kai: It's possible to create your own custom avatars, then submit them to the webmaster.

Nighteyes also has a custom avatar

To Salius: I don't think this post was created with this point of view. I wouldn't like a "who's the best member in this forum", and you?

Ug. Nighteyes' avatar looks like a pretty-boy anime. Well, I'm sure Elph will fall in love with it.

I agree with Yasraena. Avaly's avatar is very nice. However, I also find Zemd's and Frey's to be very expressive as well.

I have to say that I like zemd, Yarsraena, and Mumadar's.

It looks very professional, Avaly. I had actually thought it to be an official piece of cover art, like the standard ones on here. Please give the artist my compliments.

*looks at Nighteyes' avatar* that looks like Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star!!!

But personally, for the custom avatars, I like Avaly's and Yasraena's. For the ones already provided, I think I like the pic of Jaheira and the avatar I currently have.

Just my 2 cents....

"What's that," asked Mogget.
"Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you."
"What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?"

Um.. Nighteyes is custom and it looks a lot like him so I like it. It took me a long time to find an appropriate pic, but since I shouldn't pick my own... my favorites are Avaly, zemd, Frey, and Heira Willowmane (oh wait she doesn't count either).

I hope nobody took my comparison of Nighteyes' avatar to Gene Starwind as an insult...I certainly didn't mean it that way. But to stop trouble before it starts, I'm not making fun of Nighteyes' avatar. I was merely comparing it to an anime character that I know and like. I love the picture, its done very well. personally, I wish I could draw like that. My characters never really come out realistic...so I kind of stopped drawing. If I had a good one that I could use for Sadon, I would probably have it up here...but truth be told, I don't even have a picture of Sadon drawn on paper...just in my mind. lol.

Like I said, my apologies if my comparison sounded like an insult. I didn't mean it to.

Yes, she is wonderful. I am unsure if I am allowed to give her website or anything here...but if you would like, you can email me at Avaly@att.net and I will give it to you. If the great almighty webmaster will allow me to put the website here, I will give it to you guys. Kay Allen is wonderful and works with you. It is nice to see your character on paper after 15 years. :)

I might just do that sometime. I just created a character for Mumadar that I rather like. Of course, it is my first D&D character, and it is still awaiting Mumadar's approval. (That might take a while . . . I, uh, kinda went overboard . . . it's five pages long -- and that's on the computer. Heh. What can I say, I like writing.)

Anyway, I might ask for a portrait of him . . . although I suspect that she's going to be inundated with such requests now!

She would love it....I play another PbeM with her as Avaly...her character is dead right now....I promise...NOT MY FAULT.......We are jokingly playing around about bring her back to life as a hamster, sheep or a duck....she is not pleased at the moment. She does do book covers although and does this all on computer. Kay does nothing with paper, pen or paints....just the computer, which I thought was amazing. If things go well, I might have her do Luna.

And I assume there is some sort of fee associated with this? If it is not something that can be discussed openly please feel free to email me what I might expect in the way of a price range. I have a keen interest in having a really good portrait of Nighteyes done.

WHOOPS!! It helps to read the posts in the order they occur. Never mind Avaly I will email you, since it is I who want the information...

Thanks Bran, but I can't take the credit, because I didn't actually draw it. I only wish I was that talented!
I found it on one of the many fantasy art sites on the web, I believe it was Elfwood, when I was looking for a color pic for Yasraena. The ironic thing is, this color one looks almost exactly like the B&W one I had commissioned for her. The only thing I did was use Photoshop to scan and edit the pic so I could have a custom avatar.

Hi all,

I would have to say that Avaly's one is my favourite, although the one of Jaheira from BG2 is also rather nice (I have to say that I did prefer that one over her BG1 portrait...although that doesn't seem to be the consensus from what I gather on various BG topics both on this Forum and others)

Greetings,

This is a difficult question to answer, since most of the avatars are pretty good. Some of the best however would have to be the ones taken directly from the CRPG's, but my favorite would have to be the avatar used by Bookwyrm.

Good learning...
