The Maiden of Pain huh? And here I thought the Sage liked it gentle.
EDIT: It seems my email accounts were also hit by this scum, with one being received just this morning. Which is strange because gmail usually filters for this type of trash.

*laughs* wouldn't ya know that I had just dropped by to check the site last night and had I not read this thread, I never would have known about the situation.
You received the following message from: vincent4all (vin_diara04@yahoo.com)
Just got that message when I got home from school. it came to my hotmail.com account. but since it's already been taken care of, I won't worry about it. |

Indeed. I have locked the user and blocked the IP for these offenders. They'll likely get bored of this latest trend soon enough. |

Got some of them, too. Courtesy to the hotmail spam filter it went straight into the bin.
Question is this: is it a bot or a real person copy/pasting the junk?
To avoid bots it might be worth thinking about the letter-number-stuff you have with some sites...like hotmail. |

As sad as they are, these are real people. They have to register, respond to the activation email and then go to the effort of searching the member lists. I had 30 members in the pending registration list a few days ago, all with obscure email addresses which obviously never existed. |

FROM DESMOND WILLIAMS C/O: REFUGEE CAMP-ABIDJAN REPUBLIC OF COTE D'IVOIRE.
Dear One in Christ
I Came across your profile and have Decided to get in touch with you after prayer,to see if you can help me solve my problem. My name is desmond williams,The son of (Late Chief williams philip)Who lost his life in the course of the crisis here in Cote D'ivoire on the 7th of November last year on his way to there company ( Nestle Food Plc).
My father willed in cash, the sum of £6.000.000(SIX MILLION POUNDSTERLING) which he deposited in a Fixed/Suspence account here in Abidjan Cote D'ivoire in west Africa, with enabling conditions for the release of the fund which are as follows: (1) That I must be 22 years or above. (2) That upon request for the release of the fund, there must be evidence of investment intentions especially outside the west africa, I contact you therefore to confirm if you can absorb me in partnership in your company or possibly advise me on any investment opportunity in your country.
When I reach agreement with you which is the bank reqirement, the bank will release my fund into an accountof your choice which must be in your country,I will then come over for the shearing of the money which you would have 30 percent of the total money.we can go into business partnership if your country is good for investment. I expect your urgent response or call including your addresses, your telephone and fax number.
Thanks for expected cooperation. My regards desmond williams |
