I have got the vibe from this forum that Salvatore has a bad name here. I am not here to pick fights and dont want to cause trouble, i just wanna know why!?!

No author's name should be a bad name here. As with many places, there are fans of R A Salvatore's works here, and there are those who are not fans. There should be no feeling that anyone that is a fan should not feel welcome to express such here.

Any author that has been writing in a given setting for so long, especially with the number of works that he has written, is likely to generate a great deal of emotion, one way or the other. It makes sense since the writer has had a lot of time to make an impression on fans of the setting.

All of that taken into account, I would rather not have a discussion on weather any author or their fans "have a bad name" here at the keep. We are a forum dedicated to fans of the Forgotten Realms, no matter what authors, books, or medium that devotion comes from. I would rather not have any particular hurt feelings over a discussion like this.

I'm going to close this one for now, just because I don't know that this will really provide any of us here with anything useful, or at least more useful than the potential downside generated. You didn't do anything wrong Tom, I'm just not comfortable with thread float out there, as it can go off in a number of directions that I would be comfortable with.

Feel free to PM me for further discussion on this, and don't hesitate to discuss this with Alaundo when he gets back. Thanks, and thank you for frequenting and contributing to the site.
