So, this may be a stupid question, but were the demihuman deities affected by Ao's decree that all the gods walk Faerun as mortals? If not, why were they unaffected? Specifically, I'm thinking of Corellon Larethian, as he appears in the pantheons of both GREYHAWK and the FORGOTTEN REALMS.
Which also raises the question, considering the multi-planar influence of demihuman deities such as Corellon, how powerful are they (or should they be) compared to the other deities whose worship is confined to Faerun?
And if the answers to these questions appear in Demihuman Deities, consider me suitably chastised.
Thanks!

Lolth was clearly effected, we have to believe all deities were effected though we do not know where all of them were. AO apparently made it imposible for multplane deities to be killed and stay dead, there again many of the dead deities appear to be coming back to life. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." All of the deities on Toril were affected -- including the Faerūnian pantheon, the demihuman and humanoid deities, the Celestial Beauracracy...
Ao controls only Realmspace. Things that happen to deities in Realmspace don't carry over to the other worlds, unless the deity is slain. Of course, the new cosmology is that the various worlds are unconnected, so events in Realmspace don't matter elsewhere.
For more info about what the deities were doing during the Time of Troubles, look here. 'Ware spoilers, if you've not read the Avatar Trilogy.
Edit2: Grrr... Wizards rearranged their page, but my search fu was enough to beat them! The link is now correct. |

We know for sure that Labelas Enoreth from the Elven Pantheon and Claggedin Silverbeard from the Dwarven Pantheon were both cast down. Also, it has been stated in many places (though I apologize that I can't cite them right now) that all of the gods were affected. According to the second edition hardcover Forgotten Realms Adventures even the deities of Kara-Tur were cast down, which would indicate that the Maztican and Zhakaran gods were cast down as well, but it was noted that the Kara-Tur deities didn't do nearly as much as far as notable events during this time.
Check the Candlekeep Site FAQ, as it has a whole explanation of the current cosmology. The Corellon Larethian of the Realms is a parallel version of the one in Greyhawk, not the same god. Similarly, even before the 3rd edition cosmology, multi prime deities had separate aspects for each world, so that while Corellon (to continue the example) was banished to Toril, his Greyhawk aspect was not affected, but had Corellon been killed, he would have been banished from Toril. |

I'd recommend my Planar Explanation section in the Candlekeep Code of Conduct, it helps to understand the transition between editions, as well as the planar changes and the state of the 3e FR Great Tree cosmology.
