Hello!

A few folks may remember me from the Realms list, or the Spelljammer list, and I'm pretty active on the Kenzerco boards.

Anyway, I finally realized that the Realms list was never going to really heat up again, and thought I'd check this burg out.

Hopefully, it's edition neutral 'cause I'll die before I 3e!

Westermeyer?

Hmmm... As in, the Westermeyer responsible for the unofficial SJ-update for the Realmspace supplement, oh so long ago?

Yo,

I've seen you on the list, aye. And yeah, the list is a bit dead but I still lurk on it.

And we have many different people here who play different editions, or mash them together like I do, depending on which game I'm running.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Yep, that's a major unfinished project of mine! I might return to it some day, with the 3e abolishing Spelljammer I don't have to worry about new material conceling out my changes, at least. :)

I also wrote an article or two floating about here, I saw the 'Red Knight' article detailing 3 Realms merc companies.

Oh, and you might see my name on the Kara-tur timeline floating about the net.

More recently, I finished an 'official' annotated Spelljammer timeline, drawn only from the official products.

I've also run a Realms-based PBEM game, 'Mercs', since 1996. Currently they are dragon hunting in the Winterwoods near the Nagawater.

Another Spelljammer junkie is always welcome!

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Hello Paul,

Good to see you around. It's always nice to add another brain filled with Realmslore to the Halls of Candlekeep.

Fair warning though: lots of folks around here play and talk 3E, so you may need to bring lotion for any potential allergic reactions. ;)

Well, so far it seems easy enough to avoid the 3e stat filled posts. And I recognize a lot of names from the glory days of the Realms list, so I think I'll be fine.

In that case, indeed, welcome board Paul... you'll make a fine addition to the ranks of scribe here at Candlekeep.

I'll note that my own activity (under an alternate username) on the Realms list has dropped off considerably over the last year -- as I've chosen to dedicate myself almost completely to Candlekeep Realms discussion, and the few interesting questions that pop up on the WotC boards.

And don't worry about 3e-stat filled scrolls... there's more than enough lore discussion here for those of us who truly enjoy that side of the FORGOTTEN REALMS campaign setting.

(And we'll try to slip in as much SJ chatter as we can, hopefully while Alaundo, our Head Moderator, isn't looking. )

Works for me. I think my name and sig prove my love for the Spelljammer setting.

I just wish that the 3E Realms didn't downplay or sidestep the SJ-related lore so much. (See me get it back to discussing the Realms? )

That, and more concentration on established PS-lore in 3e FR. We've already seen tidbits here and there...

Great. Why do I always have to be the taddle-tail?

Greetings Paul (so I have read)

Welcome to the board, re your 3e phobia do not worry too much there are loads of people who still use and rave about 1e & 2e ( For myself I much prefer 2e but I am trying to change with the times)

I hope you will have a god impact on the board I have seen a core group mostly and from what I have read I see you know a lot of them, If you could check out my main thread and post anything you see will fit it would help me out muchly

Cheers Del

I'm Back!
