I can't seem to figure out who came up with these, and where they first appeared in print. Please aid me!

It wasn't Steve Schend? |

The Gatekeeper's Crystal was in the Hellgate Keep module, as I recall. Both it and Myth Ondath are described in Volo's Guide to All Things Magical (formerly a suppressed work ), which is of course available for free from the Wizards downloads page. |

Steven Schend came up with the Gatekeeper's Crystal in "The North" boxed set. Myth Ondath originated in print in the list of mythal cities found in Ruins of Myth Drannor.
If I remember the publishing order correctly, I then wrote up the artifacts chapter of Volo's Guide to All Things Magical, including the first full write-up of the Gatekeeper's Crystal. Steven wrote Hellgate Keep. Rich Baker wrote the Last Mythal trilogy.

Oohh. "The North" was good. So, too, was Volo's, but that goes without saying. |

And Myth Ondath was Ed's creation. First seeing print in the Ruins of Myth Drannor box, but first appeared in play in an inscription on rotting parchment Rathan found on stuck to a damp dungeon floor during our Knightly explorations: "Beware. They wait in Myth Ondath, their task unfinished. The living are their tools and weapons." Needless to say, we hastened to follow that up - - until Torm found some treasure, and its guardian, and thus distracted us all. love to all, THO |

The Hooded One, your quick storytelling was very enjoyable. I am reading All Shadows Fled right now and your little story almost made me think I was still reading it. As if Sharantyr or Florin was telling a humorous tale around the fire. |

Hm. I can't find Myth Ondath in Ruins of Myth Drannor (1993) -- it's not on p. 22 of the Campaign Guide with Myth Lharast and Myth Glaurach -- or anywhere before Volo's Guide to All Things Magical (1996). |

if it is in the Ruins of Myth Drannor box set it would have only been mentioned by name, with no real information...that box set mentioned a few mythals but with no info |

Greetings to you Faraer
take a look at "Cormathyr-Empire of the Elves". In the Timeline Section are some informations about Myth Ondath and the elven realm of Rystall Wood who founded the original city
for i could remember it is also the first mention of the Gatekeeper's Crystal ... at least in realms lore: it was in the Year of Chasms (633 DR)
i hope this can help
