If anyone has read the Songs and Swords trilogy by Elaine Cunningham can you tell me if i need to read that trilogy before i read the Starlight and Shadows. Will i be missing out on any necessary information?
"Lies engulf the drow in fear and mistrust, refute friendship at the tip of a Lolth blessed sword. The hatred and ambition fostered by these amoral tenets are the doom of my people, a weakness they perceive as strength. The result is a paralyzing existence that the drow call the edge of readiness." -Drizzt Do'Urden
Read it anyway! Great books. The third one was slow, but it was still good.

the Songs and swords series (as there are like 5 books to it...) have little to nothing to do with the Starlight and shadows trilogy (third book coming out soon... next month?).. i thought both sets were good reads... but then... i have yet to find a FR novel that i didn't like... just some that were more boring than others. but i'd say to read the song and swords set first since all the books are out for it right now as opposed to the starlight and shadows trilogy.
