I am reading the Realms of Elves and I have noticed the name Valmaxian before, but even after reading the story about Valmaxian I still feel like I am missing something important. Can anyone educate me better on Valmaxian?
The staff of Valmaxian was an item in Neverwinter Nights. This particular story in Realms of the Elves may well be one of those originally intended for the NWN anthology.

So basically I would be correct in assuming there isn't much more to Valmaxian than the NWN reference and the short story reference? Hmmmm..... I wish they would right more stories of Elven high mages. Such fascinating characters with their mysterious Elven ways!
