Nay that is not true, George has indicated he was working on print project(s) if you read him enough. There of course are candlekeep projects as well.

Indeed.

I recall several mentions from George that he was working on something that would see print rather soon.

This appears to be it.

Me thinks Dargoth is too quick to punish. Maybe we should tie him up on the Rack, while we sit down reading our copies in front of him?

Eric's been at WotC... and he's been here within the last week or so.

George has left Candlekeep for the time being.

Nope, not at WoTC. I'm in Cambridge, England at the moment at a conference with intermittent network access. ;-)

How are you enjoying Cambridge? I'm just curious as it's my nearest city.

It's a very nice city. Lots of character and an excellent college town feel. We even got to play a game of "football" on the green.

Well met

Indeed, 'tis a very nice place and gives me fond memories. I mean to venture again later this summer.

I think ye would be hard-pressed to avoid some aspect of football in England around this time of 2006, Eric

Considering that apart from Monaco and Liechtenstein,* every country in Europe have a national football-league (except for the UK - which has four), I'd say that pretty much goes for the entire continent Big Al.

*They do have a cup-tournament which gives the winner a place in the UEFA-cup, though.

Kajehase who thinks that Drizzt would make an excellent winger, Elminster would be a damn fine (but unconventional) manager, and Danilo a dashing forward. Oh, and Dorn Greybrook would be a horrifying defender to come up against.

There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.

Can anyone give me their opinion on the article? How long is it? How much detail does it go into?

And if the PCs DO win their ways through all the liches to Larloch, “he” will almost certainly be just another lich (loaded with explosive spells) set up as a decoy, with dozens of hidden liches waiting to pounce on any surviving PCs who ‘celebrate’ after they take Larloch down. As the REAL Larloch watches (magical scrying) from afar. Myself, as DM, I’d be wondering: “Such a glorious game, so many opportunities laid out before your PCs to devote your time to, and THIS fixation is the best you can come up with? Are you SURE you’re adventurers?” -Ed Greenwood

I submitted about an 11,000 word piece and it got trimmed down to about 9,000 words by the end of it. It's broken up into two main sections: Geography and People & Society. I tried to sneak in as much realmslore and random FR 'words' as possible (most of which survived the editorial cut). It's low on rules and was originally submitted with two feats and some information on a deity. Only one of the feats, Pureheart (a regional feat), made the final cut. Oh, and there's a timeline from 719 DR or so onwards to the present-day. I couldn't go from -150 DR onwards as I wanted due to space constraints - and who wants all that boring history anyway!! I also believe taht there's a map and if they followed all my map tags it should be reasonably detailed.

As to opinions - well, I'm interested to hear what people think of the article when it's released to the wider population. Heck, I'm not going to see the final, final version for another month or so. I hear I got good artwork though!

Oh? So it's not out yet, I see.

I may have to purchase this particular Dragon magazine, it sounds long enough to be worth it and George is an excellent writer.

You better read it before you start with the 'excellent writer' bit. Excellent writers don't get two articles published in 6 years.

So, of the 2,000 or so words that did get cut, what specifically did they cover?

Nothing specific, just a paragrpah here and there. Note that I haven't seen the final edit so they may have cut even more stuff than I think. As for the crunch that got cut, I think I'll keep it up my sleeve for future products - you never know when it may come in handy.

I would except the deity wasn't included having failed to make the editorial cut. The link to Impiltur was tenuous and I put it in just to make some fans happy. Alas, not to be.
