For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

And the drooling commences...
Oh... this is fantastic! And I'm glad to see I wasn't too far of the mark in the Power of Faerun scroll a couple of weeks back --

Ed's quote: "... so for the "complete" Border Kingdoms, readers will have to visit the Wizards of the Coast website."", was interesting. I'm thinking PoF web-enhancement.

Oooh! I missed that. Thanks for the notice George .
I'm thinking a PoF web-enhancement might be too limiting though... perhaps the Border Kingdoms will feature as part of Ed's Realmslore articles?

Impressive most impressive
Whats even more interesting is this
"Be sure to return every week for the latest entries on these incredible lands!"
It looks like Wizards are FINALLY going to do something about the 12-18 month backlog of Eds articles!

Well met
Indeed, this is absolutely splendid! I have hoped for such of this every since reading the extensive information on these lands ni Ed's column in Polyhedron.
What with these online articles and the beautiful chapter in Power of Faerūn, I wonder why the sudden focus on these lands. A future adventure module perhaps? Maybe even a novel trilogy? |

Well Red Hand of Doom is set close to the Border Kingdoms
Also is it just me or have WOTC changed the pallette for their maps the Border lands map seems rather dull Im pretty sure the other 3 ed FR maps are much brighter |

Oh, that would be wonderful -- fiction set in the Border Kingdoms as well. Grand .
Actually, a "The Cities" style series -- with a novel for each "kingdom"...

It's not just you - but whoever made the decision has my support, this one feels a lot warm and calm to look at. |

Indeed, I think this is a much better look and gives a more authentic feel to the maps. |

There is already at least one novel set in the Border Kingdom of Oeble, one of the rogues series, the name of which has escaped me, ack, (shame on me as I wrote the accompanying book sections WotC website article for it). It was quite good. |

My guess would be that this series of articles is meant to give us all of the Border Kingdoms, including the bits that were in PoF. Adaerglast probably just comes first alphabetically (for now at least), and as for the introduction - why write two if you've got a good one already? |

Great new series, I've been hoping for something like this for ages as I didn't ever see the articles first time around. |

Unless the WotC webfolks change things, all the places covered in PoF will be covered on the website, too - - but the website entries will all be (at least slightly) longer, with more detail and roleplaying goodies. It should give all gamers some idea of how much Ed's texts get cut to fit into the printed books. love to all, THO |

That's exactly what I'm looking forward too with this... finally seeing all those extra Realmslore tidbits and the like from Ed that got cut from the final edit for whatever reason.

Indeed.
Provided Ed doesn't have any *new* "B" realms for the Border Kingdoms that haven't previously been detailed officially... we've got about two more "B" locations to be covered.

Okay... so unless Ed's got more B's to add (which have never been officially detailed) or any C locations in the Border Kingdoms... we should be onto the D's next.
Any confirmation on that THO?
